TEENY TIDINGS July/August 2006
A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT
With this being my first entry into the
new E Times I would like to thank the Members and Executive for the support
they have gave me the past year and their continuing support into 06-07.
John Collins we salute you for your time and effort assembling this
publication over the years, your unique sense of humour has always made the
times a welcome read and I hope to see a by-line from you every once in a
while.
To the members and staff, I thank you
all for all your hard work in making the past years events a success but I
would ask you try and sign up for TGIF, the rules are simple. Pre cook or
do a meal at the Wing for 25 to 30 people at a price that would not normally
exceed $4.00 per person, serve it up and collect the money. Put what the
meal cost you in your pocket and turn the profits over to the bar for ring
in as ways and means. There is also bear paw burgers in the freezer, buy
the buns and BBQ. Let me know and I will buy a new box of patties.
To the folks who have surfed into this
site on the Internet, drop by for a cool beverage and a warm reception if
you are ever down east.
Volunteerism is up at 107 Wing and in my
28 years in the AFAC I have never been as proud as I am now, let’s get out
there and have our voice heard.

HAPPENED
Mixed Darts
Banquet
On June 3rd, 2006 our awards
dinner and dance was held at the Wing. The excellent dinner served by the
UNVets was followed by Joan and Pauline handing out 40+ awards. Two off the
awards given were Most Sportsmanlike Player, Bruce Brown and 180 awarded to
Bruce Longmore. Ken Harlten was given a special award for sparing. Check
below for a complete list. Then the dance, where “Texas Two Step Bruce”
held court. The ladies were all circling to have their turn. Not to be
outdone, “twinkle toes Ken” slipped in showing all his best moves. Then in
a flash here comes “jitter bug John”, I have never seen anything like it.
The crowd was in awe. Just when you thought there was nothing else to see,
along comes “line dancing Lou” and his back up dancers. It’s safe to say,
every one had a great time.

Ladies Darts Banquet
On Saturday June 10th
the 107 (Valley) Wing Ladies Darts League held its year end awards banquet.
This year’s dinner consisting of steak and lobster was catered by
volunteers. With dinner out of the way, our league President, Joan Longmore
handed out 25 awards. Check below
for a complete list.
Two of the awards given were Tinkle Queen was Joan Longmore and our most
improved Player Betty Taylor. A special thank you to all of our spares,
without their help some out our teams would not been able to play. The
ladies continued in fine fashion, our Tea Totting Susies were last seen
teasing a flashing flower. The evening escorts ensured all the ladies had a
chance to cut a rug. Smiles were abundant, fun was in the air.

set up, picked up, sold, packed up and cooked. A bite to eat and a beverage
