A LITTLE HUMOUR
Having
just moved into his new office, a pompous, new colonel was sitting at his
desk when an airman knocked on the door. Conscious of his new position, the
colonel quickly picked up the phone, told the airman to enter, then said
into the phone,
"Yes, General, I'll be seeing him this afternoon and I'll pass along your
message. In the meantime, thank you for your good wishes, sir."
Feeling as though he had sufficiently impressed the young enlisted man, he
asked, "What do you want?"
"Nothing important, sir," the airman replied, "I'm just here to hook up your
telephone."
WHAT
HAPPENED
2nd
Annual 40 Bites Around the World
On Saturday Sep 9th, 2006 our
second annual “40 Bites Around the World” dinner and dance was held at the
Wing. The pot luck meal was enjoyed by 40+ members and guests. This year
we also celebrated the Virgo birthdays, each Virgo received a Lei and was
serenaded with Happy Birthday. The was even Birthday cake. The evening
spilt over into the dance floor, where at one point we were visited by a
scarecrow. Who knew that scarecrows could dance? It’s safe to say, every
one had a great time.
UNVet Corn Boil
On Friday Sep 8th,
the UNVets fed the Wing free corn. It was in appreciation for the support
given to the UNVets by our Wing. It was by far the best corn boil ever!
Steak Darts
During the summer Steak
Darts found a new home on Monday Night. Thanks to all the players that came
out and all the helpers that made this another successful event.
Death of a Beer Fridge
During
the summer our beer fridges caught a bad case of hot flashes, after years on
life support, they gave up the ghost. Our president, realizing that you
don’t sell many warm beers found an emergency supply of cold air and saved
the day. Hoist up a cold one, cheers!
