Pooh Party Games and Projects!
We had a day filled with Winnie the Pooh fun!
I found many pictures in the Tigger Movie coloring book that could be used for projects.  Included in this book was a page asking the child to decorate a cake in "Tigger Style."  The children loved this!  Every cake was colorful with many candles!
Our music teacher, Mrs. Roy, showed us a game that we had a great time playing! The children had to hop like Kanga and Roo to the beat of the music.  When Mrs. Roy played fast we hopped faster and when the music was slow we hopped slowly.  When the music stopped we had to freeze!  Anyone who was still moving was out and the last person left was the winner.  We had a blast playing this game!
I made a cute game out of Winnie the Pooh valentines.  I took each valentine and cut off any words on the front of the card.  I then mounted each card on construction paper.  On the back of each card I placed one Pooh sticker or a direction for the child.  The directions I used were:
Bounce like Tigger
Hop like Roo
Chase bees like Pooh
Garden like Rabbit
Fly like Owl
Talk like Eeyore
Act shy like Piglet
The children came up one at a time and picked one card out of a Winnie the Pooh gift bag.  If the card had an action written on it the whole class had to act out what the card said.  If the child picked a card with a sticker on the back they got to pick on small candy and place it on a plate in front of them. (counters, cards with stickers, or other objects can be used instead of candy) At the end of the game each child got the same number of candy to take home.
We also made a class book.  Each child completed one page and then we laminated the pages and bound them together.   On the top of each page there was a picture of Winnie the Pooh and the saying "For Pooh's Party I would..."  The children had to finish the sentence and draw a picture to go with this. Other story starters that could be used:
For Pooh's Party I would bring....
In Rabbit's garden there are...
At Pooh's party....
If I could bounce like Tigger...
When Eeyore lost his tail...
If I could fly like owl...
All of the story starters work well as journal topics as well.
Do you have any Winnie the Pooh ideas you would like to share?  I would love to hear them!  Please post them on our message board or e-mail me!
