Ara Incarnation Of Umpata

Ara with another actress who's name I will hopefully discover soon...upon closer inspection, I believe the mummy is a dummy

Umpata was an ancient mummy/teenage girl featured in the BtVS season 2.8 episode, "Inca Mummy Girl". Ara Celi, the actress who plays her, has not done alot of work and does not have her own website yet. Thus, not very much is known about either Ara or Umpata, but I can tell you that she was born in El Paso, Texas on May 31, 1974. Her latest work includes a small stint as a party girl in the Jim Carrey vehicle, "Bruce Almighty".

I have managed to amass a few facts and links. I really must say that, despite the romanticization of Umpata as a foreigner, I did not find it too sexual, but more romantic and tragic. The exploration of a woman's beauty and ugliness as being inextricably linked and necessary made me feel at home. I also greatly enjoyed the way Xander made an ass of himself trying to talk down to her - a vice which I confess I have been guilty of myself when speaking to someone with a non-local accent.
