+ more interesting if
You´re interested in classic cars/lighter offroad, especially if
You find a complete car with all the unique 9033 features;
antenna mounts, impedance matching bases, antennas, exhaust
extension pipe, radiotables and so on
+ always HardTop (HT), most
903 are SoftTop (SU)*
+ always years 67-69, many
903:or are older*
+ many are relatively
recent army release=well maintained=few civilian owners
+ often low mileage/good
condition due to status as radio cars, often with long periods in
storage. The 903's often lived harder lives while in the army and
were released many years ago=many civilan owners=often poor
maintenace.
+ steering damper*
+ hand throttle
+ vaccum servo brakes*
+ heavy duty suspension
+ better instrumentation,
also trip meter which the 903 is lacking*
+ rear side windows that
opens*
- the "oddities"
of the 9033 is mostly a liability if You´re into
conversions/heavy offroading
+/- 24 volt electrical
system and AC generator, harder though to find parts*
- sparkplugs/distributor
caps are rare and EXPENSIVE*
- lacking the winch that
the 903 B (HT) has
- less usable cargo area,
mostly due to battery compartment behind engine hood.
- fewer seats, but
easy to mount seats from 903
Some of the advantages/disadvantages also applies to the 9034 (*) that (very simplified) is a 9033 without radio features. Unfortunately the 9034 is quite rare.
