Summary: The Bix 7 is a huge seven mile road race in Davenport, Iowa in the Quad-Cities area. 20,000 runners and a fast group of Kenyans show up every year to race, and every four years a few Olympians come for a nice tuneup before the big games. The race is part of a bigger festival known as the Bix Beiderbecke Jazz Festival. Bill Rodgers and Joan Samuelson show up every year to run. Billy Ryan didn't know he ran next to Bill Rodgers the entire race. We just went for the great experience and a few memories. Times are a bit inflated because it took some time to get to the starting line and get out of the jumble of slow runners around us. We guessed to subtract about 45 seconds to a minute for everyone, except Tim Hennessy and Steve Schmidt. They only get 30 seconds. And Coach Crague gets a like a 1:30 off because he got caught way back.

Summary: The Conditions were very wet and crappy for the first meet of year. We had an hour delay before the race got underway because of the rain and storms. Marquette and Wheeler did not have complete teams. Hobart did have a complete team and Valpo beat them 15-50. I don't know what else to say. Come to the meet Saturday. Nice job everyone. Bring your 'A' game Saturday.

Summary: The conditions of the course were horrible. Rain had soaked it for the entire week and the ground could not hold all the water. Most of the grassy area were squishy and the dirt areas were damp and slippy. Valpo beat Chesterton 25-32 and Lafayette Jeff 25-34.
