![]() ![]() Released in 1989 on Arista Records (lp: AL-8580; cassette: AC-8580; CD:?), this disc contains: Bang Go The Bells, Hammer Swings Down, Caught Up In The Crossfire, Desperate, The Kid Goes Wild, Shot O' Love, Maryanne, Back In Babylon, Sweet Temptation, and Sally Danced. (Boy, would i like that songbook!) "Bang Go The Bells" and "Hammer Swings Down" are two fine examples of songwriting that isn't just your average thing that everyone else is doing. The guys avoided the cliches. That is to be commended. "Sally Danced" and "The Kid Goes Wild" are two examples of great narritive storytelling. (It doesn't have to be a real-life experience to be effective.) And then there's "Desperate." Nuff said. For another version of Desperate, see Baton Rouge's second tape, Lights Out On The Playground. According to Billboard, BAD's self-titled release stayed on the charts for 28 weeks, debuting December 2, 1989, and peaking at #88. ![]() Released in 1992 on Arista Records (is there vinyl?; cassette: 07822-18702-4; CD:?), this disc contains: Take The Dog Off The Chain, Bad Blood, So Savage The Heart, Sacrifice Your Love, Redemption, Down The River Of No Return, Psychedelic Sex Reaction, Dream Train, Blind Ambition, Slave Your Body, Of The Rose, and Pray For The Wicked. Billboard didn't list this release as charting, however, with the maturity in the songwriting showing through, I believe that it could have been bigger (should have) than the first. If Billboard could only have measured the amount over the years that these tapes have been played in my home, they'd chart... oh baby, they'd chart. These are two of my favorite tapes. They have been my staples for a good 10 years (my ghod, is it that long ago aready?!) for a good workout. If you really want to sweat, these are two tapes that will get your heart pumpin'. They're also just fun to listen to. "Redemption" is a song that has no maximum volume. It just gets better the louder you go. I could listen to the entire second side of Nothing Sacred over and over and over and over... (and I have... many, many times.) The juxtaposition of "Psychedelic Sex Reaction" with the sweet playful innocence of "Blind Ambition" show a range in songwriting that not many bands strive to achieve. What an album! There's not a klunker on either of these two tapes. Now that's an accomplishment to be proud of. ![]() Released in late 1998 on Apocalypse Records (00012) and currently available on the band's web site, this disc contains: Bang Go The Bells, Hammer Swings Down, The Kid Goes Wild, So Savage The Heart, Maryanne, Sacrifice Your Love, Desperate, Take The Dog Off The Chain, Bad Blood, Down the River of No Return, Girls got Rhythm, and Cats in the Cellar. I love this CD because it reminds me of their concert, which is one that I will never forget. BAD is a band of guys that play their hearts and guts out. I can hardly wait to see them again! Order this CD now, from the official BAD website! (Cheaper than in stores. Buy it directly from the band.)

I would very much like more information on promos, compilations and singles that the band put out, in order to make the discography as complete as possible.
