Input from World Cup racers and Manitou’s elite group of freeride
talent has led us to develop an all-new MRD X-Works. The X-Works
not only has more travel, bigger stanchions, and more torsional
rigidity than Dorados of old, it also has more tuning options via
our revolutionary SPV damping system. It is the new high water
mark in mountain bike suspension technology.
The groundbreaking Dorado has the results to prove it the
best DH race fork ever made, but we just couldn’t leave well
enough alone. This year’s Dorado gets the same
voluptuous carbon uppers, 32mm stanchions, and giant lower
crown as the MRD X-Works, but retains its 180mm of travel and TPC+
damping system. Same as it ever was… only better.
To cook up the new Slider Plus, we started with some
‘03 Slider bullion and then added another inch of travel and
some SPV damping to really bring out the flavor.
With SPV damping, it’s easy to get caught up in talk about the
“platform,” but just as important is the system’s position
sensitivity, adjustability, and controlled bump
eating performance. You have to ride it, and ride it hard,
to believe how good a fork with SPV feels in the rough.
