Episode 1: Boy Meets Girl
The Tarak Nation, a man inhabited planet, has set a plan to bring down the Mejale Nation, the counterplanet which inhibits women. Hibiki, just a normal third class citizen was provoked by third class citizens to steal a Bangata. He infiltrates Ikazuchi, in the midst of Tarak's meeting, and even gets caught red-handed for stealing a bangata. At the same time, pirates from Mejale assaults Tarak and gets inside Ikazuchi, a huge warship of Tarak. Hibiki gets in the middle of war, but at least he escapes from Tarak jail cell. While he escapes, he bumps into Dita, a UFO fanatic, who runs after him. Hibiki manages to escape and finds his partner Bangata (the one he marked and tried to steal). The main hull of Ikazuchi is unattached, leaving infiltrators (pirates) inside it. The Tarak captain orders the firing of Murabasa to the main hull of Ikazuchi to finish off women. But, a crystal substance in the main engine room of the hull awakens and changes the pace of everything...
Episode 2: And Then I Do Not Know What To Do
The crystal substance eats the old Ikazuchi hull and Mejale pirateship and warps the ships to a totally different galaxy. Three men who were left in the ship were captured, they are third class citizen Hibiki Tokai, surgeon Duero McFile, and the wimpy Bart Garsus. It appears that the three men were essential when a mysterious monitoring system attacks the 'evolving' battleship. Bart becomes the pilot of the mothership, Duero becomes a surgeon, and Hibiki becomes the pilot of his evolved Bangata. However problem arises as the mysterious monitoring system turns out to be not men from Tarak but mysterious enemies with unknown identity. Hibiki proves that he's not the pathetic one anymore by going through the main core of the enemy and destroying it. Hibiki was able to destroy it, but with Dita...
Episode 3: This Is How I Will Live
Pexis' experiencing problems that it shut almost all the power in the mothership and it even uncontrolably sent the ship to a nebula zone. Fortunately there were engineers who could handle the problem, particularly Parfet Balblair. Even Duero, a doctor helped Parfet out in fixing the engine room. Dita and Gasco volunteered to ditch some information from the enemy's remnance. After having copied the data, Gasco was unlucky enough to be trapped. Dita finds help and meets up with Hibiki, who was sent to find them since his Bangata was the only one who can be launched despite Pexis's technical problems. Hibiki accidentaly united with Dita, and they saved Gasco from the clutching enemy and the ship from crashing into an asteroid (or some rocky thing). Pexis at that time got its power back, but Bart wasn't able to maneuver the ship correctly so it almost got hit, thankfully Hibiki and Dita arrived on time.
From the pieces of data gathered by Gasco, a bit of information was known: their ship was able to enter the enemies' territory and for that they are being attacked, and they also discovered that the enemies have a plan of destroying their respective planets, Mejale and Tarak for an unknown reason. With that, Magno (the old lady, leader of Mejale Pirates) declares cooperation with the three men and their destination to head back to their planets and tell the news. Not because they love their planet, but they can't just lose their 'customers' to enemies, they are pirates afterall.
Meanwhile, Ezra is announced to be pregant and the terms Fama and Oma are introduced.
Episode 4: Because I Want To Know More About You
Dita overhears a converstation between two bridge operators (Amarone Slangeba and Celtic Midori) about the 'strange tube' found between a man's crotch. Dita visits Hibiki who happens to be in the bathroom and stares at him. Hibiki screams in shock and kicks Dita off the bathroom.
Parfet and Pyoro team up in announcing the giving of new name to their combined ship. Parfet asks for suggestions while Pyoro records suggested names in his memory. Meanwhile, Duero scans Ezra's embryo and inquires her about it. Ezra explains that she is a Fama who takes the responsibility of carrying the baby in her womb. An Ohma donates her egg and its genes are implanted into the Fama's egg and is planted again in Fama's womb. Duero asks Ezra if he can be an Ohma.
BC sends off message missiles to Mejale and Tarak, just a few seconds after the missile's flight, they explode and Cube Enemies rush to their ship. Rashly, Hibiki pilots his Bangata and fights the enemies single-handedly. After finishing them off Hibiki returns only to be scolded by the enraged Meia. Meia lectures him that he should not fight by himself because it is reckless. Hibiki and Meia exchange reasons until they totally annoyed each other. Later, Hibiki complains to Magno Vivan about the annoying Dita and the interfering Meia. Magno suggests to Hibiki of changing boss and Hibiki agrees. Hibiki is assigned under Gasco, head of register system. Hibiki gets to wear cute uniforms of the register crew and practices their duty but instantly gets annoyed.
A Sphere enemy is headed towards their ship at an incredible speed. Boss Magno alerts Bart to do his job. Bart navigates the ship to run away but the Sphere robot was fast enough to block the Nirvana. Magno commands the Dreads to be dispatched immediately. The alarmed Hibiki tries to run off to his Bangata and join the battle, however Gasco stops him because he is now a register crew.
Dreads aligned in front of the ship to protect it, while the Sphere robot is steady as if observing. Suddenly, the Sphere moved and revealed spikes. The Dread ammos were no match for the spikes [which apparently serves for attack and defense purpose]. After unsuccessful shots at the Sphere, the Dreads needed refueling and resupply of ammunitions so they inform Gasco's crew. Gasco takes Hibiki with her to show their real job. Delivering ammunition and fuel to the Dreads is a risky task--- Gasco's mini ship heads to the the Dreads in the midst of the battle just to supply them. The Sphere robot attacks Gasco's delivery ship and Hibiki realizes the true job of Gasco's crew.
Gasco appears to have brought Hibiki's Bangata in her ship. Hibiki cheers "Hibiki the man is here!" and heads to the battlefield. Dita drives her Dread towards the Bangata to unite with Hibiki, but the Sphere was headed for Dita. Meia speeds her Dread between the Sphere and Dita's Dread to prevent collision. Hibiki and Meia both from opposite directions head for the Sphere, but they seemed to have collided with each other. To everyone's surprise [and to Dita's dismay] another VanDread combination is formed. Jura thinks it is cool because of the sleek look of the new VanDread.
Inside the VanDread, Hibiki finds himself on Meia's lap! Meia pushes him away but they realize it's no time to fight because the Sphere is attacking their ship. Their VanDread boosts its speed and heads for the Sphere. The spikes of the Sphere are then released to attack the VanDread. The Sphere being spikeless temporarily makes it vulnerable to attacks, so Hibiki and Meia took the chance. A green beam of light was released from the VanDread and the Sphere finally explodes. Hibiki and Meia realizes that they could not have done it without joining forces. Dita is disappointed at not having to unite with Hibiki while Jura thinks of her Dread being united with Hibiki's Bangata.
Parfet lets Magno choose their ship's name from the crew's suggestions. Magno chose Nirvana which was suggested by BC.
Dita heads to the men's quarters and lets Hibiki eat the bento she made. Hibiki has never eated a delicious meal in his life so he grabs the lunch box from Dita and eats it fast. Dita asks a favor that Hibiki should only unite with her.
Parfet cloaks the message missiles with the Sphere robot's scraps to prevent enemy detection. BC sends them off again hoping that it will reach Tarak and Mejale.
Stage 2 Synopses
Episode 1: Red Angel
Hibiki, Dita, Meia, and Jura had the same Dreaded dreams about a red light that destroyed Nirvana. The dream gets to Hibiki's head, moreover he's faced in a dilemma of promising Dita to visit her room one time. Hibiki has no problem with the promise, but he does not know what to talk about with a girl. Meanwhile, the Nirvana crew found out of an escape pod, and the Earth enemies, who became stronger than ever, are after it too. Having discovered that the escape pod is of very much importance to the enemy, they try to get it by force. Hibiki and the Dread pilots realize that the same thing is happening as what they have dreamt. "Dreams are only formed when asleep, as long as we're awake, I'll do anything to stop you!" Having realized this, Hibiki and Dita prevents the enemy from destroying Nirvana and they have recovered the escape pod as well. The escape pod is opened and a sleeping young girl is found in it. The girl wakes up and seeing Hibiki, she realizes he saved her from the enemies and she calls him Ouji-sama [My prince!]. The girl is another girl problem for Hibiki, a hindrance to Jura's plan to have a baby with Hibiki, and a new rival for Dita's love to Hibiki.
Episode 2: Be My Baby
The girl they retrieved from the enemies was Misty Cornwell, 14 years old, who was cryonized for 63 years. Misty carries an encrypted message and BC is trying to decode it. Using Pyoro, BC inserts the device that carries the message. It turns out that it was has a virus that shuts up all power sources, only leaving communication ports open. Unfortunately for Dita, Hibiki, and Ezra, were locked in the elevator and Ezra is in labor. They rely on Duero's oral help, but he has no experience and is only relying on a book. The enemy took advantage of the circumstance and attacked Nirvana while it's motionless. The Dreads were released using back-up power that Gasco's Register Sector saves for emergency purposes. Duero was not really helping in Ezra's labor, so Magno Vivan took charge in giving instructions to Hibiki and Dita. Hibiki tries to deliver the baby but is very squeamish so Dita volunteers to deliver while Hibiki supports Ezra. The baby is delivered and it cries, while Hibiki faints. The news got all over the ship and also to the battling Dreads. The enemies are finally taken out by the Dreads. The baby's cry appears to be the password to the message device. The message explains the details on why Earth [the enemy] wants so much their sex organs and how they'd become miserable when many left Earth to inhabit different planets and progress there. Magno Vivan declares that they will carry on their mission to save their future.
Pyoro and Dita visit Ezra while thinking of the baby's name. Pyoro insists the baby to be called Pyoro 2 (Pyoro Ni-chan) but Dita thinks it's not cute. Misty also visits, and so does Hibiki who apologizes for being pathetic when Ezra was in labor. Misty heard about Hibiki when he fainted and kissed him for being so cute. Dita screams in dismay having seen this, while Hibiki faints again. Paiway who was peeking took a picture of the fainted Hibiki while declaring the situation as a start of new battle.
Episode 3: THE PATH TO BLOOMING FLOWERS
The Nirvana crew are currently at the experimental planet of Earth. The planet in its whole is sick because of the contaminated environment. The Nirvana crew helps in the best way they can by providing medicine and hospital services. To prevent themselves from contamination, Parfet treats everyone with preventive injection.
Jura Vandread covers the planet with its protective shield for Parfet's observation and experimentation purposes.
Boss Magno is at the planet's graveyard and advises that the dead should be buried. However the caretaker says that it is impossible because it is the rule of the planet to return the dead to Earth. There is a transporter of coffins located at the graveyard and it transfers the coffins to the mountain where an Earth ship drops by to claim them periodically.
Meanwhile, Bart befriends Shirley, a sick girl staying in isolation since birth. Bart brags about his 'heroic' deeds, which Shirley does not mind instead she listens gladly to him.
Hibiki and Jura are getting exhausted from covering the planet but they are still holding on. Vandread power is reliant on pilots' stamina and Pexis mood, BC says. Meia also notes that the planet's environment was generated by altered data of a Pexis (Earth's Pexis, that is).
Bart revisits Shirley and sees the doll she is sewing. The doll is a replica of Bart but is unfinished: it still has no hair. Shirley promises to finish it in time. In return, Bart promises Shirley to grant her wish with a condition that she goes through treatment even though it's hard. Shirley's wish is to climb a dome and see the whole planet from there. Shirley becomes weaker and coughs. Bart calls Duero in desperation.
Parfet has developed a machine that will generate a forcefield to the whole planet to stop contamination of the atmosphere.
Bart learns from Duero that Shirley's body is weak so all he can do is to keep her alive but not fully cure her. bart cries upon hearing this.
After a while, a sickly pregnant patient is about to give birth. Duero has a hypothesis that the baby should be born in a non contaminated area to prevent sickness for all his life. Barnette and Gasco forwards Duero's hypothesis to Parfet and requests for a non contaminated hospital. Since Parfet's machine was a failure to cover the whole planet, her new idea is to develop a forcefield even for one room (a small range can be the only possible way for her machine to work).
An enemy Reaping machine comes to attack the Nirvana crew with wiser Cubes. Barnet and Gasco call for Bart who is constantly watching over Shirley. Bart is hesitant of the emergency but comes to his senses that he must protect Shirley and the planet. The Dreads are losing against the Enemy Cubes, and Hibiki and Jura are getting weaker and weaker as they are covering the planet up to now. Jura Vandread is disturbed by the Cubes, making it finally worn off. Bart guards Jura Vandread and with his rage generates Nirvana a super power. Nirvana transforms and releases an attack power that spreads on a long range around it. But the Dreads around are not hit by the attack of Nirvana. Attack streams of the Nirvana curves around allies and attacks directly at the Reaping machine therefore destroying the enemies. The Nirvana crew are amazed by this new power. Bart has finally shown his manlines, Hibiki says.
The baby is born under the small forcefield machine redeveloped by Parfet. Parfet regrets that it's the only thing she can do for the planet. The head of the planet thanks Parfet for the help and says that all babies will be born under the machine, and hopes for a bright future of the planet. Parfet cries and apologizes again.
Bart rushes to the hospital and finds Shirley dead. He won't believe it and was about to blame Duero but sees the unfinished doll at the floor and gets it. He rushes outside and holds the doll. Boss Magno says that its a regret that loved ones die but the only thing a living person can do is to keep them at their hearts. Then she tells Bart that crying is nothing to be ashamed of. Bart finally bursts into tears and cries to Magno.
The Nirvana is ready for departure, Bart enters the bridge with the bald doll
on his neck --- and a new 'hairdo' --- bald. Bart, masculine looking
than the past episodes navigates Nirvana full speed ahead.
Second Stage, Episode 4: EVERYTHING
by Chou Nuriko [ Vandread Lyrics Database ]
The episode starts off with BC reporting to Magno about discovering
the Mobile Space Station "Mission". Magno decided that
for replenishing supplies and gathering information they should
have a visit to Mission. But at the same time, she was worried that
the people over Mission may not welcome them. Gascogne thought that
maybe a base of the enemy. Then BC expressed that there'll be no
end if they continue to argue about the possibilities and she wanted
to be the one to in charge of the operation of visiting the Mission.
Magno thought that they should try to contact the people over Mission
before they try anything. (Episode Title)
The Pirates had contacted a macho guy on the Mission who commented
how backward their communication frequency were, much to the disapproval
of the other crews. BC then asked him for the permission to dock
and replenish supply. At first, the guy refused and stated that
they don't have enough supply themselves in a pretty rude manner.
Then BC suggested that in exchange for supply, they would provide
assistance with system repairing. The guy looked to his side, nod
a few times and rudely give the permission.
Meanwhile, Barnette was excitedly packing up for the coming trip,
where her main luggage consisted of guns and weapons of that sort.
Barnette said that since it's a hand-to-hand combat in a long time
when Jura asked her was she really planned to bring all those guns.
Then BC came and informed Barnette, Jura, Pyoro, Parfet and Gascogne
that they're going soon and they were to avoid unnecessary conflict.
Then Hibiki showed up and said he's going with his Bangata as well.
And Dita nominate herself to be escort. Gascogne made a comment
about Dita's already out in her Dread already. BC said they should
bring them to Mission because it will be less trouble than leave
them behind and everyone agreed.
Finally the crew were landed on Mission. Barnette entered with
her gun ready and discovered a crowd of weapon-wielding people in
a slum-like area. Barnette slowly moved forward and warned them
not to come close or she'll shoot. The others followed and Parfet
made a comment about the place really need to be fixed up. Dita
was trying to take a photo of the place but she was stopped by Hibiki.
The big macho guy who talked to BC earlier appeared and showed the
way. On the way, there were many men who trying to flirt with the
female members of group and Jura, being arrogant self, flirted back.
And Hibiki met a little girl with an angry expression. Hibiki asked
angrily, "what the heck are you staring at?" But the girl
just repeated his sentence and everybody around them laughed, where
Pyoro commented, "I'm starting to doubt if you are really a
person pyoro."
Back on Nirvana, Duero told Meia, Misty and Paiway that there were
nothing suspicious over Mission in the Medical Room. Then Meia asked
about the Weapon and Defense system and expressed that she wanted
to know about the Mission. Duero agreed and Paiway "checked"
them while saying that they're a bit difficult to approach. Misty
commented that Paiway will lose a lot of friends if she continued.
Back at Mission, they reached a place like an arena and a spotlight
was over them. BC requested for the leader of the group. Then a
woman appeared while saying that they'll be worth having fun with.
BC asked her whether she is the leader and she replied there's no
one on Mission who would oppose her only. Then she asked the big
macho guy--whose name is Patch--about BC and co. BC answered for
him and told her that they're from Mejale. Then she told her about
the deal again. Rizu--the leader--replied that they're not in need
of technological assistance, they only want some "amusement".
Then she issued a fight with them.
Return to Nirvana again, Ezra had heard the conversation and asked
Magno about what they should do. Magno replied that they should
let BC "blow off some steam every once in a while".
Back to Mission again, Rizu asked how about having a 5 vs. 5 fight,
and if one of them win, they could have the supply they want. BC
suggested for a 1-to-1 fight between the 2 representatives, that
is BC and Rizu. Rizu was angered and agreed. And there was not restriction
on weapons as long as it's not a long-range one. Then BC brought
out her whip as Pyoro said it suits her very well. Gascogne said
in a slightly excited tone that BC had not use the whip for a while.
After a short verbal fight between the two, the fight started.
On Nirvana's Medical Room, Duero had discovered quite a number
of flaws in the Mission's Defense Systems. Meia also discovered
that the some of the radar systems were not working too. So Duero
came to the conclusion that the residents might not be staying at
Mission by choice. Also, they had discovered some damage over it.
Then suddenly, they discovered something was approaching Mission.
Back to the fight between BC and Rizu, none of them was having
the upper hand in physical fighting. But BC was winning in the verbal
fighting department. Then BC tripped her down with her whip. But
a wall suddenly appeared in her way when she's about to finish Rizu
off. Hibiki noticed Patch was the one who did that. Barnette was
about the shoot but some men had caught her. When Rizu was about
to deliver the last blow, a laser beam shot past the two and they
saw Rabat was there. Rabat spotted Hibiki while Rizu was staring
at him and blushing. She shook it off and demanded how did he sneak
in. Rabat replied it's because the security had too many holes in
it--like Rizu herself. Rizu asked Rabat how many time did he had
to get her angry before he's satisfied. Then they heard an alarm
and the crew over Nirvana had detected the enemy was approaching
Mission. Magno then ordered Bart to hit the enemy without damaging
Mission and Meia to lead the Dread Team.
Parfet had used a small device and discovered a lot of enemies
were nearing them. Then Rabat explained that the residents of Mission
were actually refugees who have escaped the Harvest. Then Parfet
reported that the enemies were going to the way where they are.
And Gascogne asked where is the safest place on Mission and Gascogne,
Parfet and Patch will lead everyone to there. BC, Jura and Barnette
will guard the rear part of Mission and try to buy some time. Dita
and Hibiki will be responsible for taking care of the enemies outside.
As Parfet and Gascogne were trying to get the residents out of
there as fast as possible, the enemies were very near to where BC,
Barnette and Jura were. Jura tried her laser ring on the jelly-like
enemies but it's not working. On the other hand, Barnette's guns
were effective against them and BC was using her whip to wipe them
out. Later, Barnette's gun had ran out of ammo, and BC asked for
a gun as well. Barnette asked BC whether she know how to use one.
But BC could use the gun just fine and Barnette was left speechless.
Then Rizu joined them and using a fire-shooting bazooka.
Outside Mission, Meia was trying to lead the enemies away from
Mission and asked Bart to hit them. But Bart said that it's not
possible to hit them without damaging Mission because they're too
near to it. At the same time, the enemies almost cornered BC and
co. Fortunately, Dita and Hibiki had finally reached their Dread
/ Bangata. Inside Vandread Dita, Pyoro said that he detected the
scent of Eros. ^^; The two of them thought the cockpit seemed to
be a bit different, but Magno was yelling at them before they could
find out what's the difference.
Inside Mission, everyone was readying to fight the enemies, who
were trying to break into the room: BC had brought out her whip
again, Barnette had a small handgun, Gascogne was having her fists
ready, and Jura had a sword drawn out (but at the same time, she
was shaking very badly). At the critical moment, Vandread Dita had
finished the jelly-thing off. And Bart was able to shoot the Cube
Gateway and Cubes without damaging Mission. Finally everyone in
Mission was saved.
Inside a bar-like room in Mission, Rizu was talking to Rabat about
the Mejale Pirates. She said that people this nice was rare this
days while she poured some red wine for herself and Rabat. Outside
of the room, Dita was peeking into it while Hibiki and Patch were
trying to keep Utan from breaking into the room, even Pyoro is offering
help (But that's not working). Then Rizu said Rabat had made her
angry for 37 times and Rabat commented that it had been a long relationship.
As the mood seemed to be quite romantic, Utan broke into the room
and climbed onto Rabat while making angry faces at Rizu. Outside
the room, Dita, Hibiki, Patch and Pyoro were wearing an "too
bad" expression on their faces, where Hibiki and Patch had
food print and scratch marks on their faces.
On somewhere inside Mission, Barnette was asking Jura to help her
find something and said that she could not get any of "those"
ever again. Jura just stood aside and said "they" had
served "their" purpose and "they" were satisfied
so she should let "them" go. Then Barnette started to
rant about how rare were those guns were, but surely, Jura's not
listening...
