ZZ
Is the image identification i.e.
Example
= 423c01
This
would be Software for the Vanguard 100, Rev 4.23,
option 01.(New York) and the corresponding BBS or CD-ROM file would be
423c01.XRC. On the 6500+ these images (Up to but not including Rev 5.0) also
refer to the Extended and non extended versions of software. In the example
below the first digit after the platform identifier is the economy/extended
image identifier the next digit is the image number. i.e.
Images
XXXa10
is image #1, an economy image.
XXXa11
is the extended version of image #1
These
two images have different image names. In 5.0 and greater this has changed so
that the images now number sequentially:
XXXa01 Image Number 1
XXXa02 Image Number 2
These
images are the full extended images (Two disks), if you require the economy
image then only load the first disk. Both images have the same name but the
node reports that either economy or extended is loaded.
Now
that we supplying C-MEM images in the form of MEM files we have developed a
naming convention for these too. The name convention for these files is as
follows:
WWWXYYZZ.MEM
for the MEM file its self and
WWWXYYZZ.des
for the 65XX/Vanguard description file that associates with equivalent MEM
file.
The
break down of the format for these files is:
WWW = Software
480 = 4.80
X = Product
Platform as above
YY = The
node identifier for configs with multiple nodes.
ZZ = The
config identifier.
Example
= 455hR105.des
This
would be the text image for the a Vanguard 310, that contains the printable
information for an image based on 4.55 software for config #5 device R1. The
associated MEM file would be 455hR105.MEM
Rev 5.4 Image naming Changes.
With the renaming of the software in the 5.4
release the Software naming scheme under took some more changes this of course
affected the Image naming as follows:
Image
names are now 9 characters long
Typical
image name = 55T2IAs12.xrc
Typical Description file name =
55T2Ias12.des
The naming breaks down as follows.
The
first 6 digits follow the ZYWVUT convention of the Software naming Scheme.
Major release 5, Minor release 5, Patch “T”, includes Service Pak 2, Patch # =
I, Revision of Patch = “A”, See Software Naming Convention. The seventh digit indicates the
platform type as listed above. The last two digits are the Image option number
as referenced within Vanguide Software builder.
