After Effects.
Michael F. Hoover animated this air-to-ground missile in Lightwave with additional effects in Digital Fusion. The
explosion is from the principal photography.
The Tomahawk cruise missile was made in Lightwave; the composite
(including the heat ripple)
was done in After Effects.
Michael F. Hoover blew up our Tomahawk with the help of Digital Fusion and Pyromania. Note the Sidewinder missile
about to hit on the left.
Cecelia managed to comp these difficult greenscreens. A lot of work was required to patch holes from the uneven
lighting, the greenspill, etc. etc. Here is a "before and after" of one of the more challenging shots.
The helicopter sequence was easier, but still required Cecilia's magic touch.
