lyria
The one known now as lyria came from a lush
emerald forest at the foot of a soaring mountain. she remembers many auburn
haired children playing idly by a stream, and women stirring shiny copper
kettles pots that emitted smells of pure delight and men sowing rich black
patches of dirt that bloomed with the fruits of their labor.... and
then.....They came....on large beast with blinding swords....and in one blink of
an eye.... her beautiful world ended.
What followed was a endless life of misery,
as the band of murderers moved from one area to the next. The nameless slave cleaned and cooked
and tended to the injured. And thus
her life continued for years, exchanged from man to man, brought and sold, lost
and won until she only wished for death....until the stranger came....He was
bold and cunning, not like the others. The
girl was afraid, but He was so....familiar.
His hair was a burgundy flame that flicked around Him like an enraged
inferno and His steel blue eyes could pierce through you as no steel dared. The girl found herself wanting to please
Him, watching Him to learn His desires and his needs. And He was pleased, so
much so, that He purchased the girl before leaving the camp of murderers.
Together, they traveled the countryside
sampling all that life had to offer. He
told her many stories of His homeland that lay beyond the Great Plains. A land of lush emerald forests and
soaring mountains...of bubbling icy pools that remained clear and true as deep
as Yyour breath would take Yyou....and the girl....remembered....remembered her
beautiful world....could it be...could He be from Home? she was never to know for somewhere in
the night her beloved Master past beyond her reach to a place that she could not
go...and she was alone. she vowed
to travel through the Great Plains and reach the lands beyond.
Life proved to be very difficult for a girl
alone and her progress across the land was slow and she grew weary on one cold's
weather night. In the distance, a glow of fire beckoned her and she timidly
approached the camp. There were
many wagons and loud boisterous voices, but there were heavenly smells coming
from steamy kettles and the girl could not resist. Kneeling at the Homestone, she lowered
her eyes and waiting for the Ubar to notice her.
He was a fierce Warrior but there was a tenderness in His eyes. He took pity on the girl and granted her
permission to enter. she eagerly
warmed herself by the fire, but it was the warmth of the People of the camp that
true restored the girl. They were
kind and noble and made the girl feel like she belonged. The Ubar asked the girl if she would
like to stay, she struggled, she had vowed to make it to the lands beyond...but
the road has been so difficult for the girl alone...she decided to stay. The Ubar named her elora and she was a
proud member of the Paravaci Camp. she
learned to work cooperatively within the group, sharing tasks with her sisters,
learning the ways of the Wagon Ppeople. She
was befriended by a lovely Harpuspex of golden hair. She would allow the girl to practice her
serves with Her without fear. The
two grew close and elora loved her Beloved more than life itself. One glorious night, Beloved approached
the Ubar and bid to purchase of elora, her fiery hazel eyes nervous shifted from
Beloved to Ubar Braden as the negotiation continued for what seems to be an
eternity, but before the evening embers settled, little elora had been sold
Beloved. With her new golden ko-lar
came the whimsical name of lyria and girl wore both proudly and once again she
was happy.
she shared her stories of her home with
Beloved and a familiar cord was heard in both Ttheir hearts. Others from the camp had also spoken of
the far away lands of their youth, a one-eyed Hunter named Kurzon and His Woman,
Nyx, who was Beloved's True and another Warrior named Thoron, Who had the most
wonderful pink Tarn. The
restlessness was slow, but it grew daily, until the need for Home was so great
that the Friends set across the land on a great adventure....
And so it was that lyria fulfilled her vow
to cross the great beyond and reach the land of lush emerald forests, soaring
mountains and icy pools of deep blue....and she was happy.
