CHRONOLOGY OF TORVALDSLAND
In Torvaldsland the years are numbered by Rune-Priests, and the starting date (Year 1) of their chronology dates from the legendary event "Thor's Gift to Torvald," when the god Thor traded the spring of Torvaldsland to the hero Torvald in exchange for a ring of gold.

Slowly two serpent ships "The Fury" and "The Gwen" glide up the fjord, followed by three huge galleys.
As is His right, the first ashore is Jarl Kurzon, followed by His True 'And Thoron. They watch the galleys dock, then under the supervision of Lady Nyx, the Jarl's Woman, They start to unload. Ten thousand head of bosk, huge piles of tem-wood and even three wagons from the Plains of the far south.
One hundred thralls from Port Kar are set to work on the construction of the Great Hall, and slowly the Steading of Vanir's Fjord starts to take shape.
By nightfall, Jarl Kurzon looks around the emerging Steading and sees His F/family.

Lady Gwen, the Leatherworker
the bond-maids, lyria and kal'mia.
Work has progressed on the Steading. The Hall is complete and Lady Zystone and Countess Medicinelli joins the F/family. The slaves talender and freya step within the bond-maid circle and are collared to the Fjord. talender is renamed synnoeve and takes the position of kaji trainer. Many guests visit to welcome the Jarl and His F/family.
Many guests continue to visit and gift the Fjord. Two stand out. The Ubar of the Tuchuks, Takan arrives with a cunningly designed piece of furniture. It is made to hold and recycle the water from the hot springs and is sized for two. He calls it a "hot-tub". We call Him a Friend.
A huge Northman named Hrolf arrives and says little, only looking around the Steading, then nods, and smiles. He approached the Jarl and gifted Him with a huge iron Torvaldslander's axe. He says He is happy with what He sees, and departs. He is last seen heading north to the Torvaldsburg. The axe is mounted on the wall behind the High Seat.
Ubar Braden and Lady SilverRose of PWC Webmaze were FC'ed today. Congratulations to the happy couple. Hai Paravaci!
Ragnvald hinn Vegr joins the steading and takes the position of Steading Smith.
John Norman, author and creator of Gor visits the Fjord, calls Thoron His True and compliments the Jarl on the room and Website, saying it's a True Torvaldsland Steading. He gives Us permission to use His quotes for Our Webpage and kisses the Lady Nyx's hand before He leaves. One word…wow!
Laedi Bo'neii, joins the steading and studies to become the Steading Healer. Moonmist/Naj and Najidah/Mm joins the Steading. Moonmist/Naj will take the position of Steading Scribe, while Her FC Najidah, while sparring with the Jarl receives some real Gorean experience when the Val Raiders suddenly appear for a surprise visit. A breif synopsis of the Ubar's Council Meeting.....
first vote...FW Rarius..the definition and the no mixing of roles....the vote..8-5...in favor of no mixing...though Ubars still may train female Rarius and regard them as such ..each camp having their own guidelines on this...the name of the Rarius will then be presented to the Ubars council
Second vote....a beginning list of female Rarius that are at this moment seen as Rarius by the definitions given.....the list consiting of Lijena...Malefic...Aamanah...Dracul..Tiamara.. NightStorm....the vote....I may be off....I believe was 12-0...with one abstaining vote.....
Third vote....the vote was on whether to cage FW's that are mouthy/disrespectful and hold them till their Ubar is summoned...whether this be in public or pm....the vote was I believe....11-2...may be off there...but...the vote in favor of yes....there is discretion left to each Warrior still...but the vote was to cage any FW that basically is outside her role somewhat....define such for Yourself...
last vote...it was regarding the kolaring/killing of any FW that steps very extreme out of her role....threatens a Warrior publically or privately....again..the discretion of such I would believe is with each Warrior...but this was the vote regarding such.....UNANIMOUS.....if a FW threatens any Warrior publically or privately....somehow seizes the task of dishonoring a Warrior..He as always may kolar/kill the FW....saving text for such
Tonight the Home Stone of Vanir's Fjord was placed. The Steading grows with new M/members and Our Family is strong
Tonight Moonmist and Najidah became the proud Parents of a bouncing baby Boy......Jeffery...The Mother and Son are doing well in the Fjord
Today webmaze Kataii held and Open House for A/all it finished with a sparring contest for the Rari. Jarl Kurzon entered on behalf of the Fjord. He bested Deathshadow then Nightstorm and finally Vareem in the finals to emerge Victorius. He brought home an ornate brass chest with 50,000 DW gold Tarn discs and a gem encrusted sword with a sable blade as the first Prize
The Festival of Life kicked off at Pasheen Naragam today it open with The Tarn Races. MSR rode his Bird to Victory (no doubt spurred on by the fear of being given to Bretha if it Lost). Death Dealer and His Tarn, both flying high (not surprizing) cruised to a second place finish. Lady Antigone in her second only tarn flight finshed third (We think She will recover from Her hangover by next week). In last place was Kurzon...though not as fast as the others the Racers , the rooms He visited will remember the upside down Tarn and it's drunken Rider sitting backwards in the saddle All in all it was a good event.
At Pasheen Naragam MSR wins the Kailla races, Death Dealer gets lost as He and His Kailla miss two rooms and are disqualified. The Fjord welcomes its Newest Member…..Vandark….this lusty Northman joins the Family as Weapons Master …..ready to take on any challenge…be it Warrior or kaji…

Serving contest Last Night and Dance to night at Pasheen Naragam the Bazi tea ceremony was won by two girls from PNam and the single serve by ~lil blessing {Rgr} from WM Tuchuck. In the Dance contest menina{Tyn} of SkyeRock PP caputed first…..these were tight contests with some truly hot serves and dances……Synneove {KtH} of the Fjord placed 5th in Both events….well done girl!!
Tonight in the Poetry contest at PNam Lady Nyx and Lady Asaria Tied For first with Shatka and Kurzon tied for second....The Fjord has done well entered in every event...Hail Vanir's Fjord!!!
Today The Jarl Freed His girl synneove....She takes the name Lady Talender and has ventured out to to see Gor from the other side of the Furs...as a FW.....We wish Her well....* smile*

A busy day at the Fjord as We welcome shannon to to Our family. Tis been a Busy month... there have been the standard comings and goings but it is
with True sadness that We say good bye to Takan and takashi and even though they
have left, Their membership with the Fjord remains out of respect and hope that
they return some day. Safe journies My Friend, may Odin smile on You and the
wind be at Your back....
CASCA has taken the position of Overseer in the Fjord and with His girl azzizza
by his side is doing a fine Job... The Gorean Herald is flourishing and will be
coming out with its 7th issue next week... Lady Nyx is Pregnant and from early
signs the healers say it may be a girl...
We welcome Rune to the Fjord as Rarius and Look forward to seeing Him joining Us
when We raid...
Nyx and Kurzon will be away for many weekends over the summer as the SCA
Tournament season Begins, We will be thinking about All though even if Not
here....speaking of weekends, the webmaze gathering will be held the 22/23 of
June....Kurzon and Nyx are attending as are CASCA, azziza and Saucy Lady along

The Fjord moves closer To the books with the dismissal of the made up Gorean language....As the Ost inn closes We welcome the girls to Our home while they see if the northern life is for them...*grin*....satori has already decided to stay and is a welcome asset...The Maze Gathering was Absolutley Fantastic... Much Has Transpired durring the last three months.....Takan and takashi returned... the Ost Inn reopened...just to name a few... things at the Fjord proceed along as pernormal....RT Has been playong Havoc with peoples schedules and the Fjord is down to its core members...Yet the Core is strong...it appears that the change to a stronger, More Gorean room Has not helped with recruiting.... Oh well *shrug*..... I have decieded that I would prefer a few solid Goreans to large amounts of wannabes... On the Brighter side Nyx gave birth to beautiful baby girl on Monday the 9th of Oct .She was alone in the fjord at the time and delivered the baby By herself..........Kurzon named her Rhowyn after His Mother....both babe and Mother are doing well.
Time sure flys when You are having fun..... Vanirs Has a couple of hot new girls.... sporting a (NYX) collar is kittinia and looking fetching in a (VF) is saucy. The Fjord is doing well and even though a possible merger with the lair fell through the people seem happy..... I think it is the mead...... as winter closes in on the North the steading stands tall and proud....We may not be the bigest But ....well You know the rest.*wink*
Hard to believe it has been almost a year since I last updated this. Much has happened. Casca Has gone to Sea and is only Rarely home, His dry wit and steady sword are greatly missed...the Latest members of the fjord are Jukar, Einar, and Rois. strong additions to the family and we are happy thay have stayed. others have come and gone over the year both free and slave...most noticable was the sale of the dynamic dou sparkle and saucy to Tharna where they are now part of that elite group "sluts-R-us".....Nyx Has retired from Active merchanting and Has been considering an upgrade in her caste to that of Merchant Magistrate...Halai Has taken up the slack with aplomp and is busily amassing her fortune....A recent check of the books has shown VF weatlth to be staggering, with the holdings of Nyx inc., the Gorean Herald, The Gorean Calendar, the Collar Regisrty, the Patent office. Wharehouse Rentals and Holding in Varous cities, the personal holdings of Nyx& Halai Gor's premiere Merchants, Ilmarinen The Former Lydius Ubar's personal slush fund, CASCA former Ubar of both a Paravaci and Tuchuk camp, Silver Rose Former Ubara Of A Parvaci Camp that by all acounts cleaned out the treasury when she left,a collection of priceless aftifacts from all Over Gor that include The Fountain from Tetropoli, The Gates of the Lair,the years crop of Blackwyne beans from Treve,Kr's Black lance, MSR's Original Nard Scratcher, Four snow white Kailla, the pick of the YK herd all Bred to Either Samson,Ragnars Kallia stallion or Stones great black Beast. the fabled pink marble from the Towers of the Morning(Koroba), the entire salt-cone Harvet from Klima. then add to this such current money makers as the messenger silver collection, The revolving door turnsile, and the velcro collar consession which between the three of them generate several hundred gold a week. and finally there is the northern Ubars retirement, rest home and Investment venture That has seen such notables as Takan (Ubar of the Tuchuks), Shotokan (Chief of the Yellow Knives),Methos (Ubar of Khartoum) CASCA (Ubar of Paravaci and Tuchuk)...... VF has Over the Years also turned out it's share of Ubars and First swords...Taltos Ubar of Kassau, Magne tempory Ubar of Kassar, Steniar Cryax Ubar of Ar, Bres first sword of MTC, Methos and Andromeda Ubar and Ubara of Tuchuk, Takan owner and propietor of the Ost Inn, Koraron first sword of Ar, Ikol first sword of a slaver camp....... I guess By looking at this It indicates that not only is VF a damn good place to be but it is a great place to come from....*smile*
