greetings

the following is the order with which a slave will greet:

if a slave is privately owned:

the slave will first greet their Master/Mistress, then the Jarl, the Jarl's Woman (Lady Nyx), any visiting Ubars and Ubaras, the Overseer and Jarl's Second, the Masters of the Fjord, the Mistresses of the Fjord, the Guest and Visitor Masters, the Guest and Visitor Mistresses, and then the slave's sisters and brothers.

If a slave is Fjord-owned:
the slave will first greet the Jarl, the Jarl's Woman (Lady Nyx), any visiting Ubars and Ubaras, the Overseer and Jarl's Second, the Masters of the Fjord, the Mistresses of the Fjord, the Guest and Visitor Masters, the Guest and Visitor Mistresses, and then the slave's sisters and brothers.

NOTE: If the Jarl is not present, but the Overseer is, he moves up to the first on the list to greet, as he is standing in the Jarl's place when the Jarl is not there.

If a slave goes to another room you will ask permission first of your Master or the Free that took you there, then greet the Members of that room as you would your Home.....*starting* with the Ubar of that room

(1) When you first enter the Steading, you are expected to greet each Master and Mistress. you will use Their Title or simply Master/Mistress. For example, "Greetings Master Jarl, Greetings Mistress... etc." you will NOT use Their name as in "greetings Master Jukar"....

Goreans are extremely sensitive about names, and who may speak them. Similarly, slaves on the whole, do not address free men by their names.- ASSASSINS OF GOR, Pg. 12

Slave girls on Gor address all free men as Master, all free women as Mistress. - HUNTERS OF GOR, Pg. 65

Once a slave has greeted, they may move directly to the serving furs and offer to serve. The only exception to this are slaves who are new to Gor and in training. We will work with you until such time as you are cleared by Lady Nyx and able to serve.

(2) When a non-member enters the home, there is always the possibility that they are an unwelcome or even dangerous intrusion. For that reason, if a free is present, bondmaids and thralls should wait for the command to greet and serve. Do not ask to greet, as a slave’s presence should be non-intrusive during the initial conversation with a visitor until their identity and business has been established. When the free gives the command, then slaves may greet. The ranking free man, or in their absence the ranking free woman, in the room should specify a slave to offer service. Too often I have seen slaves make the assumption that someone else will get it, or conversely three ask at once which seems clumsy. If only slaves are present in the room then they will have to greet and offer service without direction. However, if a fighting thrall is present (chane and zwanga are the only certified fighting thralls here to date), then they should greet first to establish if any threat is present.

(3) Those who enter as Visitor ~o~ are not to be greeted or offered food or drink until they bear a name. a slave, if alone, may politely post something to the effect of... * thinking that if You would take a name, i could greet You properly and offer the hospitality of the Steading * Otherwise, let the Frees deal with this unnamed person.

(4) If ANY Stranger threatens or harasses the slaves in any way and a Master/Mistress/Moderator is not around the Stranger will be politely told of the rules. If the Stranger still doesn't listen, they will be put on ignore and a slave will get a site Moderator.

(5) PMing without permission is not allowed of Guests, Strangers, or Visitors. Any unauthorized or harassing PMs should be immediately posted in public. (make sure that a slave knows how to cut and paste)

(6) We do not allow "visiting slaves" here. Slaves did NOT go visiting all over Gor. I'm talking about collared slaves. Collared slaves can visit WITH their Master/Mistress or a Free of their home. If one comes in alone, and no Free of VF is present, then find out what their message or errand is, thank them and inform them they now how to return home. Conversely, NO VF bonD-maid or thrall, whether Steading owned or personally owned, goes "visiting" other homes alone. If we catch you, you are going to be facing your Master, the Jarl and the Jarla.
