MEMORIES ON CELLULOSE

Ah yes, the celluloid babies of Fuji and Kodak, who can imagine life without them. Memories are an important part of my life, hence the plenteous collection of photographs in my room. Unfortunately, being 115,000 air miles away in the United Kingdom does not permit me to bring all these babies with me. So forgive me for sharing such a humble collection with you; more photos will be added when i have them at hand. Promise.

Growing up (well, until 1.54m, that is)

Yup...tiny me at 2, barely hovering over an aussie koala given to me by an aunt. It now sits on top of my bookshelf, competing for space with all my A4-sized textbooks!

A certain Mickey Mouse fan at 3, looking very smug with her new pyjamas and dolphin toy from Iowa! Shhh...alot of people don't know this, but i was quite a mad clown when i was younger!

Er...like i said...

By the time i was 7 or 8, my mom had put me through so many hours of art classes it was now time to strike a pose in front of the non-advantix camera and pretend i was enjoying it all..! Don't i look like a mini-maestro here!

Camaraderie i treasure

Although MGS is where my happiest memories lie, most of the photos i have are from the RGPS/ RGS era...here's a photo of me and the 1989 softball team...we had just come in 2nd place in the national championships! Can you guess which one is me?

Here's me again, with the 1992/3 softball team, after some tournament in some stadium in Tampines... if you look closer you can see many of the faces you saw in the previous photo! (eg. Huixian, Jinghui, Bernice, Wendy, Meiyu, Sab, Xiaowei and Desiree) i'm standing at the back between Bernice (with the green tie) and Celine (with the cute smile).

This is one of my favourite pictures. It captures so much of the essence of all that i experienced and was blessed with during my short time in VJC. Clockwise, starting from the top left corner: Beiwei, Meiya, Yiping, Debbie, Vivien, Connie, Sue Anne, Esther and me.

7 September 1995. This was the day i left to study in the UK and about 50 people came to the airport to see me off! This photo shows my wonderful bunch of pals from the 1995 VJC guitar ensemble!

My holidays back to S'pore tend to revolve around church events, when we like to take lots of crazy photos outside in our church carpark! Here's me with Ginnie and her friend, 2 sweetie-pies from Junior MYF!

Few moments with family

Hee hee...this is the photo where everyone says i look like Gerald from 94S42! Here's me with my step-family on some ulu island in Malaysia, waiting for the prata-man to arrive... Anti-clockwise from the girl in white t-shirt: Me, my luurve-ley grandma, my mom, my step-grandma and my step-bro Adam Khoo (yes, the guy who wrote that book "I am Gifted, So Are You!")

In school, people used to call me 'Kiasu'... In my mom's school, people called her 'Beauty Queen'! Now you can see why!
