You glance around at all of the portals about you before finally shrugging and walking off toward one at random. You take a step inside and are blinded by a bright flash of red light for a moment before you find yourself in...something wet. You look down as you loose your balance, falling in the mud. You make a face of disgust and pull yourself out, wandering through what looks like a swamp a bit to find a patch of dry land. You sit down on an upraised tree root for a bit, and sigh, looking about, wondering where anyone or anything is in this place. A small croaking sound catches your attention first, and you look to your side. Seeing a small frog would have been nice, expected even, but when seeing a small frog dressed up in a Santa Clause outfit dragging a brown sack along behind it was certainly unexpected. You blink, squeezing your eyelids before reopening them to see if your mind is playing tricks on you. No such luck. The frog still sits there. "Oh, Hoppers, leave our guest be! You always scare them, coming up so close like that. It's a wonder one hasn't squashed you yet!" You look up to see Vaprrenon, hands on her hips, glaring at the little amphibian. The little frog croaks again and hops away from you, dragging its little bag along with it. Vaprrenon offers you a hand and helps you get to your feet. As you try and wipe off some of the mud, you explains with a shrug. "Hoppers was a gift from Hulyen Bluefeather to the CCF around Christmastime back in 2000. He's harmless." |

"Well, come on, then!" your guide says happily. "There are a few more pets here from Hulyen." She looks up through the trees and laughs. "See what I mean?" You look up to see a burr of red and green. You seen see it a bird, carrying a cube of some kind. It drops off the small object it is carrying before carefully landing atop it, ruffling its feathers as it settles comfortably down a few feet from the both of you. "Meet Berries," Vaprrenon introduces, gesturing toward the red bird. "She was a Christmas gift to the CCF as well. And she's taken up the duty of taking care of another CCF gift here, our Square Watermelon." The ishna creature giggles a bit. "I wouldn't get too close to it if I were you...it might be a watermelon but...then again, it coems from Hulyen." You blink, looking to Vaprrenon. You ask why you should not get too close. After all, it's just a watermelon, even if it is square. "Well, you should have probably figured out by now not many creatures here are...normal," she says with a shrug. "Even though it's a watermelon, same goes here. You get too close it might feel threatened a growl a little bit at ya. Not totally sure what that's about, but I figure I should warn all of our guests jsut in case." Your eyes widen a bit, glancing over at the stationary thing. Maybe you should go now, before any more strange things like this pop up. Frogs and birds were one thing, but growling watermelons? Do you really want to mess with things like that? |
