"Boo!" You jump at the sound, turning to see Vaprrenon smiling, looking quite smug. "Welcome! Welcome to the Mequis' grasslands! It's very...grassy, as you can plainly see." She holds her arms out to emcompass all of your surroundings and you half heartedly agree, raising an eyebrow at her ear-to-ear smile.

You jump, hearing a strange noise. You look and see the grass moving to and fro, making a path toward you. You are fully alert when the grass stops moving, tense. Something was in the grass. You let out a shout as something jumps and hits you in the chest. All you see is a blurr of purple before you fall on your back, ending up at Vaprrenon's feet.

"Meet Pundcro," you hear Vaprrenon say as you stare up into the face of a purple short-muzzled creature. "She's a cutie, isn't she?" You watch as the thing jumps off of you, allowing you to sit up, and stays there, cocking her head and staring at you curiously. So, this is a mequis, you think to yourself. They're pretty cute creatures. You smile happily at the little thing as it coos and rubs against your arm.

Your eyes flash to the side as a flash of yellow blurrs past. Pundcro seems upset at your pause, and knocks her head into you in attempts to get some more attention. You, however, are fully turned and staring in surprise at another meaquis, this one dominantly yellow, with blue stripes along his shoulder and back.

Vaprrenon smiles, going over to the new arrival. She picks him up, cuddling him like a mother may do with a baby, and carries him over to you and the first mequis you are now trying to push off of your lap. "This cutie is Sarden," she introduces. "He's even more of an attention hog than Pundcro, so watch out," she giggles, setting the happy little EverRealm creature down.

Sarden tilts his head at you before pushing Pundcro out of the way so he can trample all over your lap, rubbing against you and trying to get some love. The other meaquis doesn't seem happy about the situation, but sits back and starts licking a paw anyway.

You frown, pushing Sarden back a bit, holding him up slightly, the smiling creature looking down on you. You look to Vaprrenon questioningly, confused about why this creature has a hoof in place of a fourth paw. Your guide smiles, recognising the confusion in your eyes from her other visitors. "Meaquis are a hybrid," she explains. "Most of their gentics come from domestic cats, but the rest if from ponies, or some other equine. So, some of them have a hoof or two, and others have more equine-like tails."

You stand up, finally, and brush yourself off a bit. Vaprrenon grins, patting your shoulder. "Well, come on. There's a little hide-away not too far from here. You can see some other meaquis over that way." She smiles, calling to the two furry friends off to the side. Both look up and, smiling, take off into the grass. Your guide laughs. "After that moving grass!" she jokes, taking after the ripples created by her two pets.

You groan, shake your head, and take off after the ishna, not wanting to be left behind. You hate how fast she can be when her mind is stuck on her cyberpets. You are near out of breath when you see her and the two meaquis stop on up ahead. You sigh, slowing and deciding you'll get there at your own pace.

"You're missing it!" Vaprrenon hisses excitedly upon your arrival, pointing to a light green meaquis. This one does not seem to have any hooves like Sarden, but the other green meaquis sleeping nearby certainly does. You frown for a moment before realising what's going on. You then grin, watching the first creature stalk the other before pouncing.

The sleeping meaquis awakes with a start and a yeowl of terror, jumping up and running away from whatever it was that attacked. Unfortunately, you're in the creature's way, and soon end up back on the ground with a little animal on your chest.

Vaprrenon laughs wildly, picking up the little meaquis so you can get up. You sigh, waiting for her to finish, not finding it all that funny. "I'm sorry, the look on your face," she whimpers, trying to catch her breath. She coughs a bit and sighs blissfully. "Sorry," she says again, though still smiling.

"Gar's a little mischievious tike...and unfortunately for Sizban, he seems to be the blunt of all her jokes, right, honey?" she asks, nuzzling the now purring critter in her arms. She sets the little meaquis down, and you both watch him wander back to his napping spot, glaring at Gar along the way before smiling contently and curling into a furry little ball.
