You glance around at the choices hanging about the grassy walls of the strange room and finally decide upon a rather large framed portal somewhat nearby. You smile and walk over to it, dipping your hand, then arm, inside of the blank canvas. You watch the rainbow-colored ripples extrend from the penetration before feeling a great wind rush up.

You feel weightless for a second, surrounded by darkness, before coming out in a brightly lit area. You fall to the ground, letting out a slight groan as you push yourself up. "Here, let me help you." You blink, looking up to see what you at first think is a young man...and young man with a small pair of dragon horns sticking from his head.

You hesitantly take the hand offered to you and stand up. Brushing yourself off, you look over at the stranger to realise he is no normal boy at all, but some sort of small centaur. He smiles to you, flicking his pink tail. "You alright?" he asks. You blink and nodd, and finally smile to thank him for his help.

"My name is Dragwar," the young centaur creature says, bowing his upper torso. "I am a minitaur, a custom order to Vaprrenon from Amethyst at The Crystal Palace's Lamplit Alley. It was only about 650 Voodles to sign up for a minitaur custom," he continues, "And Vaprrenon had wanted to house one of my kind for a short while before then."

Dragwar laughs a bit at his adoptive parent's silliness. "Why she wanted to give me pink hair I'll never know, but it seems a lot of people like how I look with it, so I'm certainly not about to complain with all of the comments I get!"

He smiles to you. "I can be your guide through the meadows if you would like." Dragwar shifts his weight a bit, waiting for a response. "You may find other minitaurs and babytaurs here, new individuals are being brought home all the time." He turns to lead you onward, still talking over his shoulder at you.

"Vaprrenon seems to have taken a slight interest in draconic-themed minitaurs, so you might see a few more like me around. Heck, probably a few with even more mutations. My horns aren't that large, after all; mine were more for adorable decorative purposes," he said with a boyish grin. "Yeah, uh...guess you could say I'm a lover instead of a fighter." Dragwar shrugged, leading on. "This way."

You follow young Dragwar through a small meadow, glancing about at the butterflies fluttering about as the birds in the nearby trees sing their little songs. Could a world be more perfect? It was almost scary at how untainted the minitaurs' sanctuary is compared to your own world. You shake you head, looking over to your guide, realising he is speaking again.

"There she is!" he laughed, glancing back at you. "Come on and hurry up! You have to come meet Mary Kate!" the young stallion announced before breaking into a canter. You sigh, rushing after him as the minitaur goes to greet another of his kind, the green-coated mare looking up from where she was picking flowers.

"Dragwar!" the new minitaur called with a smile. "Long time, me friend!" She glanced up, finally seeming to notice you. "I see ye've brought a new visit'r!" She tucked her flowers in a nearby basket before walking over to the two of you, hugging her blue-coated friend in greeting.

Dragwar smiled and nodded, turning to introduce you. "Yup, another one!" he said to the mare first before addressing you directly. "This is Mary Kate. She's almost like a big sister, my best friend here!" He looked to his companion with a proud smile. "First mare here at the Meadows, too! So we're both special!"

Mary Kate rolled her eyes and sighed. "Aye," she agreed. "We're both firs's, tha's for certain. An' lit'le Drawgar 'ere's a good lit'le boy an' a good friend." Mary Kate grinned, playfully pushing the other's shoulder. "E'cept fer 'is silly quirks now an' again!" she teased, to which Dragwar made a face.

"She just thinks she knows everything 'cause she can hold her own in a fight and...I stink at it," Dragwar mumbled, shrugging. "So, Mary Kate, you know where anyone else is?" he asked. "They keep wandering around and I never know where to take our guests anymore."

Mary Kate glanced back toward the hills, flicking her tail behind her. "I think Genesis is o'er tha' way. 'E was babblin' 'bout some nonsense 'bout more o' them fire-breathin' dragons ou' an' abou', though no one but 'im e'er seems to see them." She glanced back to the two of you, bowing her upper half as she kicked at the dirt a bit under hoof. "'Twas nice to meet ye, stranger. I 'ope to see ye again soon."

Dragwar smiles, looking over to you. "Well, come on, I'm sure you don't want to wander around forever. We should go find the guy before he wanders off again. Thanks for the tip, Mary Kate." The mare smiles and nodds. "Don' stay ou' too late, Dragwar. I'll be wai'in' for ye."

The young stallion nodds and waves to his friend before turning back to you, making sure you are following before he starts off for the hills to find the next minitaur for you to meet. "The others don't usually wander too far. We're usually pretty social creatures...I guess like both humans and horses!" he laughs, looking to you. "Funny, huh, how the two really do come together like that? Life's funny sometimes."

You roll your eyes at the stallion's innocence, trailing behind him for a short while as you cross the meadow and climb the first hill. Between this and the next you spot another figure, this one seeming a bit large for a minitaur. As you and Dragwar draw nearer, you realise that the inflated size was an optical illusion from the stallion's large wings.

"Genesis!" Dragwar called, trotting up to the slightly larger minitaur. "I have a new guest come to meet you, come say hello!"

The new stallion turned to look at you. He tucks away his knife before bowing in greeting, refolding his wings over his back. "Greetings," he says with a smile. "I am glad I chased off that dragon before you arrived or there might have been trouble!" he laughs. "I would hate for a visitor to be put in any unnecessary danger."

Genesis turns to your companion, putting a hand onf Dragwar's shoulder. "'Tis getting late, my friend. You should be getting home soon, especially with all you have to do lately."

The light blue minitaur nods, though he shrugs slightly as well. "You sure you want to take over then?" the younger stallion asks after a quick glance to you. "You're not too busy with dragons and all?"

Genesis grins, pats Dragwar's shoulder, and turns to you. "Well, then, let us go, then, newcomer!" he says happily. The winged minitaur pats the hilt of his sword at his waist. "You'll be safe with me, that's for certain."

Dragwar smiles to you, shrugging. "Guess you've been passed, huh? I'll see you later, maybe. Be sure to come back and visit, won't you?" he asked hopefully. "Have fun. Don't let his talk of dragons scare you off, alright?" the young stallion asks with a smile. He gives a final wave before turning back to head home, leaving you with your new guide.
