Views on “Cellphones and students”

Student life is to learn and learning comes by isolation from society, implying the student has no obligation but to learn.  During that time cell phones are not a necessity.  The cell  freedom (Cellphones ) of  student’s lead to dating and flirting  with sms messages.  Ending up on wrong exploitative contacts resulting in adultery. With these negative implications, usage of cell phones among student community will be counter productive to the Society, in the long run. Are we  wrongly giving the youth, the cell freedom to end up in the cell!

The undersigned observed in several college seminars, students are not attentive to the rare speakers but were busy flirting by toying the cellphones with sms messages.   Speakers got frustrated with the students distracted concentration. It is pathetic to note the Waste of hard earned money of parents and the sincere efforts of educational institutes.

Cellphones must be banned in colleges and such instruments be seized, if found in use. Parents must keep a check on their children’s pocket money and monitor their behaviour. Cellphone companies must be held responsible for exploitative marketing approaches and extra tax be levied as a luxury item.

Modern communication and transport systems are meant only for the socially productive class and not for the student community, who needs to display and adhere humility for further learning and education. The students are overtaken by a wrong fad of ‘feel rich’ fallacy  and indulge in contempt with their senior counterparts. They also lack the sense of discrimination because of this. Definitely,  it is not right to give the facility of cell phones to the students.
