This supportive letter was sent to Mary Ann Mackin who originally inspired all of us to campaign for restoration of our full pensions. Mary Ann has worked diligently with NARFE to support our bills in the US Congress. NARFE is extremely important to our campaign as it is the largest organization representing retired federal employees. Any nurse who doesn't belong to NARFE, is encouraged to become a member. The issues NARFE supports in Washington are vital to us when we retire.

Congratulations! You got both the bill introduced and promotion of same in "RL." (NARFE's national magazine) Good work!
I may have covered this previously, but the next step, if you haven't done it already, is to prepare a resolution on this subject for submission thru your chapter for consideration at the Pennsylvania State Federaion Convention next Spring. Assuming it goes forward, it will then be considered as part (of) NARFE's legislation agenda. If it adopted it will then come under the national support unbrella!
I am hopeful, the convention attendees will adopt the resolution cover this bill. If you are of a mind to dop it, I would suggest you and/or Ms. McKown attend the 2002 National Convention in Greensboro, NC next September to give your resolution the necessary support for adoption. Likewise, you should encourage any members who make contact and are interested, to work within their Chapter and Federation to gain support for your resolution.
These individuals should also contact their local Congressional Delegation to gain co-sponsorship for these bills.
You may know all of this already! The message is, you've got to work this from all angles, with a lot of different people and groups to gain support! It may be frustrating at times, but that will make the payoff that much sweeter when the bill becomes law!!!!!!
