September 29, 2003 Heya! Check it out, I've been promoted to a new journal. Or maybe it's demotion. *thinks about it* Nah, Dewey would never do that to me...I think. Anyways, our dear little author is on a roll again. She found the time this weekend to not only upload another chapter of "Eternal Avenger", she also updated both her sites. Of course, she didn't get anything done in terms of the fanfiction contest or homework, but we'll forgive her this time around. If only because she's busy worrying over getting into Rollins College. In any case, I shall begin my critique. For starters, I don't think I've ever read a longer chapter than the first one of "Eternal Avenger". Holy Crap! Talk about a whopper of a story this thing's going to end up being. That was even longer than most of the one-shots Dewey's written before. When she said her chapters were going to be longer, I didn't know she meant *that* much longer. But apparently, the readers weren't daunted by the length. In fact, most of them loved it! But that's the Newsie fandom for ya. Heehee. Hmmm, Dewey is incredibly descriptive throughout the whole work and sometimes I don't know whether I want to take advantage of the descriptions and start drawing out literal vivid images on pen or paper...or whether I want to scream in hysteria and rip my hair out. She really does get carried away with it, though. Not that it's a bad thing; it's just funny I think. I don't know, I have an odd sense of humor I suppose. Which leads me to my next observation. What's the deal with my character? Okay okay, I'll admit. Dewey told me ahead of time that I'd be a serious fellow for a change...but man oh man, I really think I need to get *insert typical male comment here* sometime soon in this story. It'd definitely give me reason to stop acting all mopey. ~snickers~ Thankfully, not too many characters weren't introduced in this story but I still had the smallest of troubles trying to remember everyone. And lastly, Combat rocks! Oh wait...we're sworn enemies... Can't wait for more from the Dew-master! ~BROOKLYN ALWAYS~ *Runner* December 8, 2003 Heya! Wow, I haven't updated in a few months. I'm starting to become like Dewey. *dodges her handswipe* Hahaha. I actually shouldn't be making fun of her. Even though it's been weeks since last she updated "Just A Little Bet", she has completed four installments of "Eternal Avenger". I'm a bit set off, though. I'm supposed to be the main character and yet there's already much chaos going on between the other characters! What about ME!? Dewey assured me that my ego would only serve to make her create a new original character. *smirks* No, in all honesty, she promised me she'd go into deeper characterization for me within the next one or two chapters. I'm much excited about this. So our favorite little author abandoned me last month and had a rendezvous with some loser from school. >.< I was heartbroken...truly. Finally, a week later she realized her place was with me and left him. At least, those are the reasons *I* think were behind the breakup. But all for the better! Now she has more time to write her stories and all that joyful hoo-hah. She gets her acceptance letter from Rollins College in one week! *teary eyed* My little Dewey is leaving me. Ah...che sera sera. Now if she'd only hurry up and finish "Just A Little Bet"! ~BROOKLYN ALWAYS~ *Runner* February 7, 2004 Heya! Has it really been two months since I last updated? How time doth fly! Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS to Dewey! She got accepted into Rollins College-her dream school. ^_^ Now that she doesn't have *that* to worry about, she can start updating her stories more often. At least that's what you'd think. But no...she actually started writing a new story called "A Tale of Two Familes...Trying to Make it as One". *pouts* But I'll let her get away with that because she did finish judging the fanfic contest and is currently making banners for the winners. On top of that, she even found some time today to update her site. Her only priority now until the summer is to write and direct an Easter play for church and to pass all her IB exams so that she can get her International Baccalaureate Diploma. After graduation-and a crosscountry trip over the summer-she'll be a more devoted and prolific Newsies fan. *smirks* My nod of approval to the latest chapters of "Eternal Avenger". I don't appreciate my having denied Spot's challenge at the Decadal Meeting, but oh well. I suppose we must let the mutt bask in -some- glory. *dodges Spot's cane swipe* Hahaha. I just wish Dewey would hurry up and update the stories. I'm rather impatient, you know. She even got an email from cast-member and fellow NMLer Matches-a plead to update the story! Ha ha! You see, I'm not the only one! Anyway, I best allow her to finish updating the site. Until next time... BRooKLyn WaS HeRe *Runner Conlon* September 2, 2004 Hey there! It certainly has been quite the while since I've last updated, hmm? We can blame Dewey for that. She passed her IB exams and was awarded the International Baccalaureate Diploma, and she has started Rollins College as of mid August, so she's been preoccupied with studies once more. Today, however, she's celebrating her two-year anniversary of being on the Newsies Mailing List, so thankfully she's back into Newsiedom and will be making more updates. These updates are hoping to be manifest in the completion of her recent fanfiction contest (the second annual summer contest) and updates of: Eternal Avenger, A Tale of Two Families, and Where the River Flows Bright. Aside from this, she also aspires to write two one-shots. One for Ershey, and one for Kez's Seven Sins Contest. And here's the news of the day!!! From Sapphy's Back to School Fanfic Contest, I won Best New Male! *Throws confetti everywhere* I mean...Dewey won it...but for ME. *Smirks* Catch you all later! Check out the Awards page!
