The Poject: Design of a Residence

Brief description of the Project:
My first professional design, during my study at IIT roorkee.


The restrictions of available resources were gave direction to the choice of the Structural system 
and Construction Materials. This along with the vernacular architecture of the place dictated 
the form of the building.

The application of VASTU in the design ( a compulsion set by the Client ) was the major factor in
 allocation of Spaces.

The building tries to merge itself with the setting, the built space communicates with the environment 
and the occupants shall be given the opprtunity to enjoy nature without being a burden 
on the environment.

Energy Efficient Techniques like 
Maximum use of Daylight, Solar water heating, Rain Water Harvesting, DEWATS system, 
Wind Scoop, Stack Effect - ventilation. 

I prepared all the Working Drawings, Sanction Drawings and the Presentaion Model.
