Character summary: Rai shows up in episode 16 for the first time. He eliminates the previous failure E.G.Mine and goes on to ight a damn cool fight with Vash. After comming pretty close to defeat Vash who did not want to fight, a sudden "Angel Arms" transformation happens and Vash goes on drilling a hole in the 5th moon.
AS for Blade himself he is the warrior among these guys. No super natural or unexplained is related to him. He has his trusty blade and a lot of agility, speed and moves . also he is the 9th GHG of the Jigenzan, trained by the Itto masters to face Vash. Rai respect a lot of rule mostly ones related to battlefield. there is a sens of honor, and kodeks of a warrior that Rai goes by, but with a bitter merciless bite of reality. His goal is another weird thing. Blade wants to reach the peak of spiritual awereness, but through death and pain. that is why he is taunting Vash into hurting him as Blade believes that in that way he will reach his ultimate goal. By the end of the fight, at the moment that Vash is shooting the Angel ray Blade seems to meet his ultimate goal, as a feeling of fear and anxiety mix up in him. He does evade the blast but gets capped by Nick soon after!
Blade in a odd sense doesnt kinda belong among the gunners that most of the characters in the show are but on the other hand with his otherworldly appearance and fightning style he completes the Gung-ho Guns.I found him most intriguing character and i wish he had a bit bigger role!
WEAPONS: Rai-Dei has a sweet arsenal of arms at his disposal. He takes the old school samurai weaponry to a new level. first there is his blade. this little thing is about 4' long actualy a "fequency blade" It went through a same process of making to achieve a strenght, and lightness that is has and a power to cut through any material literaly like through paper. Second are the shockwave, or should i say the sound blasts he makes with his blade that also a formidable weapon in short and long range. and 3rd but not the least is his scabbard that is actualy a rifle. Iam not sure on the technicalities about this thing but it has no special props, and it would be equal to todays M48 single shot rifle! |
