Ships of the Alliance

The Alliance Navy fields a variety of vessels, the purpose of this document is to allow you to familiarize yourself with the basic setup of each vessel. Each ship also includes commentary by Lord Damnal Sakotd (Head of the Ministry of Intelligence and Diplomacy) and Svolket Kervolsh (A Lieutenant in the Orion Alliance Navy).

Understandably the information presented here is not complete in order to maintain the security of the Orion Alliance. Note that there are also unconfirmed rumors of two Navy vessels that are larger than anything documented here, of which the only information known is that they are Battlecruiser class, and are named Katana and Wakizashi. Currently the Alliance has no known Battleship class vessels.

All figures and specifications listed here are approximately accurate in conjuncture with the published date of this document.

Aeon Flux

Class: Fighter/Courier
Maximum Speed: Warp 20.3
-Damnal- "The Aeon Flux is one of the galaxy’s most renown courier vessels. Faster than most other vessels, the AF as it is affectionately known is used by diplomats and personal couriers throughout all of the quadrants. Though in theory useable as a fighter, the actual combat usefulness of an Aeon Flux is very little."
-Svolket- "The Orion Alliance's fastest ship. This fighter is capable of exceeding warp twenty."

Bladewing

Class: Fighter
Maximum Speed: Warp 19.3
-Damnal- "The Bladewing is the standard fighter vessel of the Orion Alliance, and is well sought after by several other space-faring empires. It’s high speed flight, slower only than the Alliance’s own Aeon Flux, allows the Bladewing to provide excellent support for any vessel."
-Svolket- "This fighter has some very slick moves. It's powerful forward weapons and speed make it the fighter of choice."

Stiletto

Class: Scout/Frigate
Maximum Speed: Warp 17.2
-Damnal- "The faster of the Orion Alliance’s scouts, the Stiletto is commonly used as a fast attack ship. Designed primarily to get its crew to a destination quickly, while still maintaining enough fire power to be designated a frigate."
-Svolket- "Compared to the Dirk, it has inferior weapons and hull, but a much higher max speed."

Khopesh

Class: Frigate/Scout
Maximum Speed: Warp 16.4
-Damnal- "Originally a Bajoran design, the Khopesh has found a home within the Alliance Navy. Mounting powerful phasers, the Khopesh sacrifices speed in hopes that the phasers alone will be enough to strike fear into an enemy."
-Svolket- "This scout is one of the faster ones in the galaxy. Its ability to cloak makes up for the lack of weapons."

Dirk

Class: Frigate
Maximum Speed: Warp 16.4
-Damnal- "Using the engines from the Khopesh, the Dirk maintains the ideal behind the Khopesh design, but increases the weapons load even further. The Dirk also is one of the few designs which regularly has a cloaking device installed, allowing it to engage in deep strike missions."
-Svolket- "This is the strongest of all the smaller ships. Armed with quantum torpedos, it is the navy's choice."

Cutlass

Class: Destroyer
Maximum Speed: Warp 17.2
-Svolket- "A ship crewed by two bridge officers, with more speed, more agility, but smaller weapons. It beats a Dirk anyday."

Longsword

Class: Destroyer
Maximum Speed: Warp 16.4
-Damnal- "The slowest cruiser in the fleet, the Longsword class vessels possess superior electronic countermeasures. These countermeasures, coupled with the the class’ slower speed, allow it to pass through space almost undetected. Deployed primarily for homeland defence, the Longsword has a long history with the Alliance."
-Svolket- "The bigger brother of the Cutlass. With a stronger hull, stronger weapons, and bigger attitude, it becomes a favorite."

Claymore

Class: Cruiser
Maximum Speed: Warp 17.2
-Svolket- "This ship crewed by three bridge officers is much easier to hit, but is a dwarf compared to its foreign counterparts. The weapons seem to be lacking."

Excalibur

Class: Cruiser
Maximum Speed: Warp 16.4
-Svolket- "The pride and joy of the Alliance. This fast little midget packs a hell of a punch at impulse with its quantums."

  -Final commentary by Svolket- "Orion Alliance vessels were designed with one thing in mind: stealth. Some would think that the Romulans have them topped there, and in some cases they are right. Orion ships don't just gain stealth from their low quality cloaking device, but from their size too. Their impressively compact designs allow them to turn and deliver a devastating volly before their opponent can, and matched with speed they become the perfect impulse vessel."

Ancient Orion Vessels

Most ancient ship specifications and designs have been lost over the centuries, only two known ancient Orion vessels are now documented unfortunately. These ships were used at the height of the Orion Empire, primarily as the famous Orion pirate ships. The only place you are likely to ever see these vessels are in small pieces located in a museum.
