 are budding
 on the magnolia tree,
 all around last year's
 scraggly magpie nest
 revealed
 at the crook
 of the bare branches.
 Nestled in a patio,
 sheltered from the snow
 and frosts,
 her magnificent flowers
 pleasure the eye
 and please the heart.
 Five early blooms
 are leaning
 agains the heated glass.
