Hodja is a judge/imam/fool in the local tradition of Anatolia in Asia Minor. Though Greek, I have grown up with these stories. I was reminded of the following one hearing that there is thought of taxation of virtual assets on the internet, of domain names and such.

The woodcutters

Two woodcutters undertook a job to bring a load of firewood to a villager. One of them works hard in cutting up a tree, loading the donkey etc, while the other is lying against a trunk observing him and cleaning his teeth.

When they went to be paid the diligent worker kept all the money and gave none to the lazy one. The lazy one took the good worker to the judge, demanding a share of the pay.

Hodja heard the story through, and asked the lazy one: "is it true that you were just sitting against a trunk all the time this one was cutting and loading wood?"
"yes", he said," but every time he made an effort I groaned along with him to help him".

Hodja thought a bit. He requested the pouch with the money from the good worker. One by one he took out the coins and rang them on the table top. " Listen to this sound, it is your pay", he told the lazy one.
