An Ode to the Body and Soul

Come , soul
Let us make us a body.

choose from the best:
take the morning dew,
for water
take camelia petals
for skin
take granite
for bone
the deer's grace
for the muscle
the nightingale
for the song
and blow on it
with the breath
of the wind .

Dance, my soul
in this body beautiful
on the beaches, in the sun.
Sing, my soul what the
eye sees and the ear hears.
Make, my soul,
what the hands
so craftily fashion.
Think , my soul,
what the brain thinks.
What a wondrous body
this is
which we have made.

"Behold! It is good".

Come, body
Let us make us a soul.
