    • Okay, so i cleared the general exam, and now i have to get on with the non-trivial job of selecting a topic for my PhD. I'd already decided that Juhan would be my thesis prof, so thats decided. He's thrown a couple of topics at me, and now i have to make up my mind as to what i wanna do, and what i can and cannot do. What about 'Common Envelop Binaries'?

    • Start with Geoff's topic... we know something about dust clouds, molecular clouds and the like now. so develop on that and work towards 'core collapse' and Hayashi line etc. Why is binary star formation preferred? What happens of the conserved quantities?
