Madras Homoeo Pharmacy was found on Sep 2, 1962 at 113 Usman Road, T.Nagar, Chennai 600017, India. It was founded by Dr.K.V.Swamy as a proprietorship. The inaugural ceremony was presided by his guru Dr.V.R.Murthy and eminent practitioner Dr.Shankar Rao Koppikkar.

When it was started, there were no homoeopathic pharmacies in the south Madras area and people in south Madras and beyond had to commute a long distance even to get one dram of medicine. The cost of the medicine was less than the commute charges! The opening of Madras Homoeo Pharmacy was a boon to every homoeopath of this area.
