Okay, did experience at last, and a couple characters did indeed advance.
Gorvak made it to 15th with just under 500 xp to spare.
Til'k'chek made it to 15th with just under 200 xp to spare.
In ascending order of amounts needed to advance a level, the rest of the group:
In the "darn, almost made it!" category is Mulan, needing only 7 xp to advance! (I was tempted to advance her anyway, but then that is one reason I do xp before looking at the current totals, so I won't fudge the results just because...) So Mulan will certainly advance after the next session, unless of course she manages to meet her ancestors instead.
Abu needs < 2k to make it to 12th.
Noku needs < 3k to make it to 15th.
Zenako needs < 4k to make it to 16th.
Isaku needs < 4k to make it to 15th.
Birkat needs < 5k to make it to 13th.
Hatori needs < 6k to make it to 16th.
Ashiko needs < 13k to make it to 16th.
