Title: "Lion-o needs help!"
Characters: Kin-gali, fan-made and based off of the 80's cartoon, ThunderCats
Medium: Pencils, Felt Tipped Markers, Adobe Photoshop 5.0
Comments: I'm sure we've all have done this, while watching our favorite show, come up with a character of our own to insert in. I've done this sort of thing countless times including characters for Josie and The Pussycats (the cartoon and not the movie), Sailor Moon, the list can go on. This particular fan based character, Kin-gali, was just recently finalized. She'd been in development since 6th grade. Originally just a normal cheetah and a photocopy of Cheetara herself (my God...the only thing that comes to mind is how Bulma and Bra are photocopies of each other). Her name was a rip off of Cheetara's name as well, and I refuse to say what it was out of embarrassment. I don't think I was too original back in 6th grade -_-(). It switched from a cheetah to a liger (a tiger/lion hybrid that I think came in 97) with the name of Lygra. Rip off Tygra's name, I know. And within the past few days I changed her back towards a cheetah, a king's cheetah (yes, these do exist, they're just a normal cheetah with larger spots, giving them a marble look almost). So here's what I did, made a variation to Cheetara's facial tear patterns, made the hair way less poofy and more tapered down like Pumyra's, and showed some ears! Naturally I couldn't resist a purple outfit (and she even has purple eye shadow, a contrast to her hair color instead of Cheetara's blue which is a contrast to her tears and outfit), and viola! Kin-gali, the King's Cheetah. One more thing I would like to point out, if you've never seen ThunderCats, you would have no clue what is happening in this picture. To put it simply, Lion-o is calling his fellow ThunderCat's for help (a thing he alone does using his sword). When he calls for help, the other ThunderCat's will see the sign in the sky, and their eyes will glow yellow momentarily alongside their insignia. Then they proceed to go to Lion-o and aid him.
