Title: The Thunder-femmes swear off men
Characters: Cheetara and Pumyra from the 80's cartoon, ThunderCats
Medium: Pencils, Felt Tipped Markers, Adobe Photoshop 5.0
Comments: I'd been thinking about a ThunderCats video game I read that would eventually come out in a Gaming Magazine. So out of boredom I went looking at ThunderCats sites and I got very much into the mood of drawing them. I hadn't seen ThunderCats in years, but I admit that it was one of the key factors that influenced my love for cheetahs. So I drew a pic of Cheetara, my favorite ThunderCat. In all the screen shots I had seen of her recently she had no eyebrows, where as all the other ThunderCats did. So I added them because it bothered me that she didn't have them. Then I added Pumyra in because empty space needed to be filled. That and Pumyra was the second ThunderCat whose physical designs I could remember. That and you know how I am with drawing Yuri and Shoujo-ai. The style isn't normal for me, at least those faces and structures, but that's what made this image so neat for me. I really loved coloring the two in. Pumyra's earthy tones made her a treat; her color scheme is something I haven't appreciated until now. Cheetara's skin and hair were fun because of all the different shapes, though I can't say I like her color scheme (I had taken colors from images I had saved as reference.). The background is cheesy, but I didn't want to put a cheap solid color background. The Cat's Lair is an eye sore, and I drew it with a mouse. I'm just surprised it's recognizable. My only gripe about this is how Pumyra's and Cheetara's heads don't look the same size, although I measured countless times and they were.
