Used IPA Bitter base this
time instead of the Glen Brew 80/- Heavy, as used last time
After the last (exploding
bottle) experience, we made sure fermentation was well and truly complete before
bottling
Brew nice and malty going
into bottle - can still taste Crystal Malt
Lovely rich caramel colour
Some of the bottles from
our last attempt at 80/-
exploded violently in storage, leading us to suspect that fermentation had not
really finished prior to bottling
See Danger for details
Taste Test - tried
the finished beer after five weeks in the bottle - didn't have excessive
carbonation this time (phew). Brew is very pleasant, definitely
80/- but not as heavy in flavour as the first batch we made - would
prefer to use the Glen Brew base that we used in the first batch |
