Started: 20 Oct 98 

Bottled: 7 Nov 98

 

Ingredients

Can Glenbrew Brand 80/- Heavy

1.5 kg Light Malt Extract

Danstar Nottingham Yeast (comes with can)

 

Method

Mix can of goo and LME in fermenter

Top with water up to 22.5 litres adjusting pitching temp to 26-28 C

Pitch Yeast

 

Facts and Figures

OG 1.050 FG: 1.014

Alcohol about 6%

22 Litres

 

Analysis

This beer tastes great - very smooth and malty

Nice dark caramel colour

Bottles opened early (about 5-6 weeks) sprayed everywhere

 

Some bottles subsequently exploded violently in storage leading me to suspect that fermentation had not really finished prior to bottling
