Hopped Golden Sheaf Wheat Beer

Ingredients

1.7 Kg can Morgan's Golden Sheaf Brand Wheat Beer

1 Kg Liquid Wheat Malt Extract

25 gms Northern Brewers Hops (AAU 9.2%)

Yeast from brew mix

 

Method

Bring Hops to boil in 2-3 litres water, simmer for 30 mins

Strain Hop liquor into fermenter

Warm can of goo and WME, add to fermenter

Top with filtered water to 23 Litres, adjusting water temp to below 30 deg C

Maintain wort in temp range 22-30 during fermentation

Analysis

A variation on our usual Wheat Beer theme, we added hops

to make this brew a little more tasty

 

At bottling brew tastes more bitter than the standard

wheat beer we usually make. Hops aroma and taste evident but not

overpowering or as strong as Aussie Redback. A good half-way-

house beer for those who don't like their beer too bitter nor too hoppy
