Ingredients

1 Can Brewmasters Black Rock NZ Draught (1.5 kg)

1 Kg Light Malt Extract

35 gms Cascade Hop Flowers

5 gms  Yeast (comes with can)

In this case actually added a second (fresh) packet of 7 gms 

Nottingham Ale Yeast  as we had the original packet that came with can

sitting  in the cupboard for a while and was concerned about its viability

 

Method

Bring hop flowers to boil in a couple of litres of filtered water

Simmer for 20-30 mins

Meanwhile, warm can in hot water

Warm malt in microwave

Strain hops liquid into fermenter

Sparge hops

Add a couple of litres of boiling water to fermenter

Add can of goo and malt extract

Stir to dissolve

Add hot and cold filtered water to make 23 litres

at pitching temp of around 24 deg celsius

Pitch yeast and stir

Maintain temp around 20-22 deg during fermentation

Analysis

At bottling light hoppy aroma

Smooth, slightly hoppy taste
