Started: 29 Jul 98 Bottled: 5 Aug 98

 

Ingredients

1.7 Kg can Morgan's Golden Sheaf Brand Wheat Beer

1 Kg Dry Wheat Malt Extract

 

Method

Just added fermenting ingredients to 23 Litres water @ 30 deg.

Mixed WME after cold water added to Wort to avoid clumping.

Second winter attempt using heat pad

OG: 1.040 

FG target: 1.018 

FG reached: not recorded

Analysis

Another really excellent Wheat beer.

Slightly stronger wheat flavour than Pale Rider.

Subtle apple cider taste in background.

 

 

 

Second Batch

 

Started: 10 Oct 98 

Bottled: 20 Oct 98

 

Exactly the same as previous recipe but made only 22 litres

OG: 1.040 

FG target: 1.018 

FG reached: 1.015

21 Litres

Made only 21 litres this time

A really good quaffing beer  - and a good beer base for 

other specialty types - such as fruit beers.
