The Ventura County Council High Adventure Team will be conducting the Rock-Climbing & Rappelling Awareness courses on Saturday Oct. 23, 1999.

The course is open to all those that have completed High Adventure Outdoor Leader Training.

This is the indoor session of the course, the outdoor practical session will be scheduled for Nov. 26-28 1999 at Joshua Tree. Arrangements may be made to have a outdoor practical session local for those that can not make the Joshua Tree session.

This course covers the basic fundamentals of equipment, knots, safety, techniques, trip planning, and leadership. The course is intended to teach leaders the basics needed to run a safe and enjoyable rock climbing & rappelling outing.

The course will also cover the NEW "Climb On Safely" course that National has established for adult and junior leaders that will be involved in rock climbing and rappelling outings.
