Writer-director John Hamburg, (writer of ZOOLANDER and MEET THE PARENTS), teams once again with Ben Stiller to make an offbeat character study that is guaranteed to induce helpless laughter. Reuben, an overanxious insurance risk analyst (Stiller), weighs his every action by assessing pros and cons. He finds himself dumped on his honeymoon by fickle wife Lisa (Debra Messing) who runs off with Jacques, a nudist scuba instructor (Hank Azaria). A few days later, Reuben is back in New York at a pretentious gallery opening, wondering why he's bothering to test the waters so soon, when along comes Polly Price (Jennifer Aniston), a quirky, worldly, adventurous soul, whose only flaw appears to be a generalized lack of commitment. The formerly germ-obsessed, controlling Reuben is transformed by Polly's free spirit, her predilection for spicy food, and her pet ferret. Her love of salsa dancing makes him jealous and painfully uncomfortable. But his heart is aflame.

This time around a couple of conjoined twins (Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon) are the focus, and this premise provides for a relentless string of clever, absurd, and always-fresh jokes. Bob (Damon) and Walt (Kinnear) are living happy lives, perfectly content to be joined by a patch of skin that extends from armpit to hip and allows them to share a liver. Though they must do everything in tandem, they are best friends and treat each other as individuals with separate lives. Living on Martha's Vineyard, Bob (Damon) owns a popular local diner where he and Walt work as incredibly fast-moving short-order cooks with all four hands in perfect sync flipping burgers and slicing vegetables--this is one of the best gags in the film. However, as the brothers are shown playing hockey, fighting kung-fu style, cruising for babes in a bar, and taking on basically any other feat imaginable, the laughs only get better. Trouble comes when suave, confident Walt decides to pursue a Hollywood acting career, and Bob's stage fright, panic attacks, and shyness present a personality clash. Nonetheless, they get to meet Meryl Streep, they land a starring role in a television show with Cher, and they find some nice girlfriends.

In Tim Burton's family film BIG FISH, a wonderful storyteller named Edward Bloom (Albert Finney), who lives in a small town in Alabama, recounts tall tales of his wild worldly adventures. These are shown in flashback with Ewan McGregor playing the young Bloom. Wonderful special effects and vibrant colors that pop off the screen make this Burton film a much sunnier experience than his macabre gems EDWARD SCISSORHANDS and BEETLEJUICE. Yet his signature quirky artistry is unmistakable, and the movie benefits from crisp production values and a loveable, bizarre cast of characters.

This classic story of mother (Jamie Lee Curtis) and daughter (Lindsay Lohan) body switch is a remake of the 1976 film starring a young Jodie Foster. Here, Tess Coleman (Curtis) is a widowed psychiatrist juggling her job and family while planning her second marriage. She's getting no help from her teenage daughter, Anna (Lohan), who disapproves of her mom's wedding plans. Anna is a rebellious rocker, who plays guitar in a garage band and would rather flirt with older boys than listen to her uptight mother. One night, while the warring mother and daughter are at a Chinese restaurant, their fighting is overheard by an elderly Chinese grandmother who curses their fortune cookie, so that they wake up the next morning in each other's bodies. An hysterical series of physical comedy routines show how Tess and Anna are forced to live in each other's bodies for the day, which happens to be the day of Tess's rehearsal dinner and Anna's band audition for the House of Blues. Anna (in Tess's body) goes for a spin on the back of her boyfriend's motorcycle, and gives her mom a makeover, and Tess (in Anna's body) stands up to a high school teacher. Jamie Lee Curtis is a comic genius in this challenging role, which requires that she slouch, curse, and flirt like a teen.
