Enduring In LOve
February 14 is a Roman Catholic feast day for St. Valentine. Actually, it originated from ancient Rome. The celebration was form of pagan worship in honor of the Roman god of love, Cupid or Eros. Christians are far more blessed because the celebration of love is not on the 14th of February but everyday . The Almighty God is the only God of love and He
Himself is love. His commnad is for His people to ``love one another´´. This implies loving each other regardless of date and not confined to a day or so.
It is an alarming concern that there are many broken marriages and relationships ( examples married couples, sibling, friends...) in our present time than in generations past. It is a very difficult experience to be `` hiwalay sa asawa´´ or not to be in good terms with friend, or not in speaking terms with someone, lalo na sa pamilya. I should say, hindi
ito ang nais ng Panginoon. For married couples, the Bible is clear; Also in Roman 12:18 we are commanded to `` live at peace with everyone ´´. we should always be bonded by love in all our legitimate relationships.
If only we will learn that love has no limits, that love never says; ``you gone too far, I can´t love you anymore´´if only we take heed of 1 Corinthians 13:7 ; "Love...bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things," ( All things means everything included ), there would have been no unnecessary pain at all for all!
Let us ask ourselves ; are those close to me rest assured that I will not falter in my love for them regardless their offence? Do they know that even they hurt me, I would still love them, holding nothing against them?
Love assumes the best about others. If someone offend you, you choose to forgive. If someone seeks to harm you, you " bear all things," forgiving unconditionally. If someone you love continues to provoke you, you " endure all things." You never lose hope in the one you love. You practice the same unconditional love toward others what Christ has demonstrated to you.
If you are at a point of giving up, take a while and think of how God expressed His complete and selfless love to you. Pray and ask Him to enable you to express the same unconditional love to your loved ones and friends.
And if you have a wrong relationship, ask God to give you the courage to let go of that which is wrong!
