| 2nd Semester Extra Credit Project Cinco de Mayo Paper Flowers |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Instructions: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Materials needed: Long, colorful tissue paper, pipe cleaners (one per flower) First, take the tissue paper and put six pieces, one on top of another, and then, fold it like you would a paper fan. Next, take one pipe cleaner and tie it around the center. Now, take the tissue paper that is still folded like a paper fan and pull the paper up. Make sure you do not pull too hard or it will tear. Now, you should have a paper flower. I would like it if you made 3 to 5 of these paper flowers, so that you may have a bouquet. DUE DATE: April 4th 10 extra credit points |

| 1st Semester Extra Credit Project Flags |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Materials needed: flag pattern, posterboard; tissue paper colors for the flag you choose to do; glue; markers; full picture of the flag you choose to do; yarn; masking tape. Obtain a picture of the flag, tissue paper of each color, and glue. Copy the flag pattern onto the posterboard. Tear the tissue paper into small strips, then crumble into small balls. Use the paper balls to cover the flag, coloring each section correctly. If there are any detailed drawings on the flag, you may draw them on in marker. Allow the glue to dry, and attach yarn to the back with masking tape to allow for hanging. These are only suggestions. You can find another way to do this. Have fun with the project and be creative. |
