"Once the decision to kill is made, one should not hesitate."

Killing is not evil.
Killing is defined as the act of eliminating human life.
Murder is defined as the act of eliminating human life without ethical justification or necessity, and IS evil. Murder is selfish and greedy. Murder is cheap and quick. Murder is the 'easy way out,' as thought by barbarians.
Even though eliminating human life may be easy it should not be the first choice. No inexperienced warrior can understand the abject horror and shame of one who has killed another person. The act may be aligned with a sense of absolution ( which any warrior can sense ), but it is also a despicable thing.
Never forget the lessons of those warriors who have traveled the road before us: "Technique is no substitute for virtue."
Our world needs warriors who will make the right decisions, rather than those that are quick and easy.

For those who may be living in the United States, a good 'rule of thumb' is that most laws regarding self defense require immediate and impending, personal threat to oneself ( rather than another party ). Legally, there is no sense of preemptive strike -- only felonious assault.
