SARC is a division of The United Way of Acadiana.
It is located in a building known as Stuller Place, along with the Child Advocacy Center.

SARC provides the following free of charge:

*emotional support to all victims of sexual abuse/ assault

*escort advocates to accompany rape victims to the hospital and remain with them through the examination, evidence collection, and statement to law enforcement

* short-term crisis intervention therapy for survivors of sexual abuse/ assault

* assistance in finding extended counseling within the community for victims

* a 24-hour rape crisis line (233-7273)

* awareness education through information on rape/ sexual abuse and its effects on victims, families, and the community

* two outreach facilities: SARC Abbeville and SARC New Iberia
