The Vagina Monologues, highlighted this year by an original musical score, is a celebration of women and female sexuality.  Each of the thirteen monologues uniquely illustrates one individual's experience with her body.  Standing alone, these experiences are incredibly diverse, ranging from sexual liberation to sexual assault and from first menstruation to the miracle of birth.  Within the context of our conceptualization, however, each of the monologues provides a glimpse into but one aspect of the female experience.  In this way, each woman's unique story further illuminates the universal truth of the whole story: the story of our life, the story that defines all women everywhere, the story that we are struggling to change... until the violence stops.
