Jessica, or Jessen as her friends call her, is one of those kind of people that stands out in a crowd.  She has a personality all her own.  Most people tend to mold to the personalities of others to fit in or feel more comfortable.  Not Jessen.  She's comfortable being herself, and her personality is so commanding she tends to have other people mold their personality around hers.  That's how I see Jessen.  One word sums it up- confidence.

We've been friends for 7 years now, and to this day, I don't believe anyone could have a better friend than Jessen.  She's the kind of person that can read a person's mood in a way that she almost seems to be reading their mind.  Thus she is the mystic of the group.  The "wise" one if that sounds right.
Jessen and I met working at McDonalds.  We both were cashiers on the night shift.  Soon we became good friends, and I told her about my weekend job at the Renaissance festival.  She was intrigued.  Well, she went with me to work that next weekend, and was hired on the spot.  We worked together at the bean bag toss (King Henry's favorite game).  That was probably the best time of my life.  We created our own characters.  She was Synnovea from an exotic foreign land, and I was Desiree, with the fake french accent. We had a blast!
Well due to circumstances, we became roommates.  During this time I started writing our very first book,
Another Plain of Reality. And, believe it or not, half of that book is based on some of Jessen's crazy dreams.
We've been through a lot of crazy times over the past 7 years.  She sang at my wedding.  She let me cry on her shoulder while going through my devorce.  She gave me wonderful advice when going through hardships.  She held my little girl in her arms and smiled down at her, as if she was her own.

I never thought I would meet anyone who thought the same way I did, who was eccentric in the same way I was eccentric.  It's amazing when you find that friend, and you don't even realize it right away. You look back over your life, at all the people you've known, and that one person stands out to you, the one you call first when something major happens.  The one that calls you up long distance to talk for an hour about some great new plot twist.

That's who Jessen is to me.  A wonderful, clairvoyant, understanding, Puerto Rican Princess from New York who's always there for her friends.
