peanut butter chocolate chip cookies

This recipe is from the Soy Not Oi cookbook which was compiled by The Hippycore Krew to help hungry/bored vegans and hopefully convert other people to veganism along the way. It doesn't seem to be available from anyone anymore so if you want a copy you'll have to borrow it off someone and photocopy it like I did. These are probably the best cookies ever so even if you're not vegan you could make them with curdled hormones-and-pus-infected cattle secretions unless you want to make the effort and use soya milk and vegetable margarine. If you do make them non-vegan I'd advise using plain chocolate chips anyway cos they taste a lot better in cookies.

2 cups peanut butter
1/2 cup vegan margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons arrowroot
2 teaspoons water
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
splash soy (they're keen to point out not oi) milk
12oz plain chocolate chips (Supercook ones are good)

Mix everything in a bowl except the chocolate chips and soya milk. Add milk until the texture is somewhere between wet and dry. Add chips. Bake at 175*C (350F, gas mark 4) for 8-10 minutes.
