About 14 seasons ago Nagafen, in a fit of rage decided to take his rage out on the barbarians of Halas. He had found that the Brood that Vox had deposited in the Ever frost Peaks had been destroyed. He burned most of Halas and killed many of its citizens in almost an instant. When the barbarians abroad heard of the tragedy they made their way back to Halas to bury their kin and rebuild their home. A few months later the barbarian war council convened and decided the course of action. Nagafen must be destroyed. A large war party made their way to Lava storm and entered Nagafen 's lair. But none of them were prepared for what they found. An army of 65 mature wurms stood in the barbarian path of vengeance. They were chased out of Lava storm and Nagafen pursued closely, killing every intruder she saw. The barbarians retreated into Nek forest, figuring to make a stand there. But even there they were routed and scattered. While stalking a brave barbarian warrior named Hurren Bearbreath, Nagafen pinned him what he figured to be an isolated corner. Knowing he was done for, Hurren made his stand there. But an errant family of dark elves happened up on Hurren's predicament, they though that it would serve Innoruuk's will best by saving the barbarian from Nagafen and kill him while weakened. Barbarian blood brings a ahefty sum in Neriak. So the father, a chanter and the mother a priestess fought and weakened Nagafen. But Nagafen unleashed a huge ball of fire, reducing the pair of dark elves to ash. Hurren had snuck behind Nagafen in order to unleash the deathblow all be it too late to save the pair that had helped him. He snuck underneath Nagafen and gutted him from underneath; Nagafen fell in a pile to the ground. Hurren was exhausted, sitting to rest. While near the edge of sleep he heard sharp wails in close proximity, he figured it was a wounded cat and would make a good meal. To his surprise Hurren found a young dark elf girl, who was no more than 4 years old and wailing like a banshee. Now Hurren knew that it had to be the daughter of the 2 dark elves that had helped him defeat Nagafen. He also knew that she would not survive in this desolate part of the Nek forest. "What's your name?" Hurren asked. The child sobbed and said, "T'nsha Bree." "Well then T'nsha, your parents went back to town, you should go home." Hurren knew that he could not escort the child to safety, he would be quickly overwhelmed by dark elves in his weakened condition. So he pointed to the direction of town and told T'nsha to keep walking straight and someone would find her and take her to her parents. But she would not go, she said she was afraid and couldn't move. Hurren was in a fix, he couldn't leave her and he couldn't take her to her home. So he decided that she was an orphan and that he would claim her for his own. He asked and she was overjoyed at the idea and so he headed to Halas to show T'nsha her new home. While in North Karana, Hurren decided to give her a more fitting name. From then on she was known as Brixtan. When Hurren and Brixtan walked into Halas they walked into less than a warm reception. The residents didn't like a child of Innoruuk in their home and felt that Mithaniel would look down upon the insult before them. So the council exiled Hurren and told him that he could return so long as the child wasn't under his protection. His family begged him to kill the child or at least abandon it in the peaks to freeze to death. But Hurren was a good child of light and suffered the exile. Years passed and Brixtan grew strong but Hurren's fight with Nagafen weakened him to the point of slowly dying. The last year of his life he taught Brixtan how to fight because he was no longer able to hunt for food. He taught her the ways of honor and valor and the lethal aspects of the way of the warrior. One late evening Hurren told Brixtan that she wasn't safe there and that she should seek out her people. She was now old enough to find home on her own. He gave her a map with the way home and some invisibility potion he'd gotten from a shaman friend. Brixtan couldn't bare to leave his side but could bare even less the thought of leaving him to die alone. So she carried Hurren to the boat going into Halas, she knew that they would care for him in his final days, due to his heroics in slaying Nagafen and they would accept him back because she was no longer by his side. She quickly said her goodbyes and followed Hurren's map to find Neriak. Unfortunately Hurren's map wasn't very accurate and was written in barbarian, which Brixtan had a limited knowledge. She quickly found herself lost in West Karana, and one night while she was camping, she was found by an iksar shaman. His name was Klok Shasir and he was looking to share her fire for the night. He didn't seem a danger and she was in awe of the idea of a talking lizard. So she agreed as the night progressed they talked. She told him her story of trying to find her people. Shasir told her of his quest to unite all the people of Norrath. The more they talked the more she felt herself slip away. She was enthralled with what he had to say and his voice soothed her, much like Hurren's singing did when she was younger. Shasir asked Brixtan to help him with his quest and in return he would teach her the ways of a cleric, that way when she did find her people that she would be revered as a great priestess. This idea intrigued her and she agreed to assist Shasir. To begin her training they would have to travel to Caballis. This would be the second time she would be walking into a city that her kind were not welcome. Shasir and Brixtan met with a high elf wizard at the spires of South Karana the next day. Shasir had all ready booked passage back to Caballis and in an instant they stood in the aqueduct city. Shasir rushed Brixtan to his den and began her training as a cleric, from ancient tomes he had procured from Dwarven clerics. Her training went for hours, hours turned into days, days turned into years. After years Brixtan had learned everything the Dwarven tomes could teach. But Brixtan had no idea as to Shasir's end of the bargain would come to pass, but that changed quickly. Shasir's plan was explained late one evening, Shasir wanted to unite the world of Norrath. He intended to do so by taking Brixtan to the Plane of Hate, use a spirit extraction spell to extract the soul of Innoruuk and Brixtan would use that soul to imbue into a pristine diamond, Shasir planned to use the diamond in a suit of armor that would allow him to enchant the soul capabilities of Innoruuk so that he may become a god himself. Brixtan did not want to seem ungrateful, but her purpose was to rejoin her people. She knew that if she killed the father of the dark elves that would be impossible to do. She tried to convince Shasir that his path was misguided. Shasir grabbed her by the throat, raised her high into the air "If you will not service my end, I will kill you myself, and reanimate you. Your skills will be just as effective to me, dead, or alive" She feared for her life, She had every reason to, she knew Shasir could easily make good on his threat. "Let me down, I will comply" She said with a tremble still in her voice. Shasir slowly let her go, and gave her instructions on how to prepare the diamond for imbuing. Brixtan slowly began her chants, each worded under her breath. Shasir quickly grew impatient, And just as he began to speak to scold her, she turned to him, throwing Red, grasping strands of mana to him, paralyzing him where he stood. She knew this would not hold him for long, so she ran out of the iksar city, and into the woods outside. It wasn't as if she had any ideas where she was. So she ducked into a cave, hoping to throw Shasir off his pursuit for a while. She fumbled into the dark cave, and sat to catch her breath. Little light emanated from a few torches lit on the cave wall, and from what she could gather, she was in a drafty mine. Echo's from outside reverberated into the mine walls. Shasir had a small army scouring the woods, she heard the random hissing & clicking as it walked by. Unfortunalty, a gust came up from the mine, blowing out all the torches, casting her into darkness. Her pulse began to pound as she heard mindless breathy cackling from behind her. As the noise became louder, it was accompanied by a harsh growling hiss. She slowly turned around, only to see 5 green skinned goblins, bearing teeth, and tongues wagging. They lunged for her, as she stammered backwards, turning, and running straight out of the mine. She felt her chances better with the iksar, than the goblins. Lost in the woods again, she evaded random giants and goblins, until Shasir spotted her. He levitated over the treetops, and began to rain down blasts of fire towards her, igniting the woods on fire. She charged thru the woods, running between the legs of giants into a valley, Shasir closely behind. The valley opened up into a giant plain with a giant iksar statue before her, her heart raced, Shasir's blasts were beginning to nip at her heals, her robe began to singe on her back. Out in the distance, she saw an outpost with a giant mud man, her last resort was to run to there, maybe the mud man would throw Shasir off long enough for her to elude him again. The mud man stood on patrol and did not even acknowledge the struggle for survival she was in. But a force of powerful dark elves rushed Shasir and dispatched him. As Brixtan caught her breath, a massive battle ensued nearby. The force was far too powerful for Shasir to battle alone. He began to flee. Enraged by what Shasir had put her thru. She once again summoned her red strands of mana and paralyzed him once again. "My LIFE…..IS…….MY…….OWN" She screamed, as she focused her last bits of energy, and rained down unholy wrath into Shasir's heart, striking him dead where he stood. As she walked up to Shasir's singed body, a horrific stench emanated that smelled like Mammoth entrails. She put her hand on his scaly head, lifted it up so she could see his eyes, and spat in his face. Then she fell in a heap upon the grassy plain. Her breath began to return to her, as she laid on the ground. She looked to the sky, as one of the dark elves that assisted her approached. "What is your name?" he asked "Brixtan" she replied still gasping. "Lady Brixtan, we welcome you home" he replied, and smiled. And for the first time since hurrens passing, she did finally feel at home.
