blessings:
    (for Lynette)

    Bless    the    counting

        (s)

One:     Pain, lasting an hour, two

long enough for grapes to green
        (Wash them warm again)

Two:    Forgiveness (your own) and fore

        thought, hidden behind the bookshelf
        Life is alphabetical

    Three:   Expandability, infinite as china

         and less fragile
Blue willow turns pink if you crack it

Four:   Connection, a Joni Mitchell song

        piano keys and fat trees,
        Selfish in the twenty-twenty sun

Five:     Joy, the hermaphroditic winter guest

        who raps your heart
with the clean crack of bone-break

Six:      Seven, and numbers (since all good

comes in figures), and the end
of a song    Endings are the refrain for beginnings
