note to squirrelly theater guy requesting he please stop calling me at 1:00 am every 2nd Monday (especially when the moon is full), part II

    At 1 am he announced that he was a sidekick
    Quick kick to the side of happiness, kidneys
    And that he bit last winter's night
    Because she had the face of cherub;
    He wanted to see if she would bleed, taste
    Sweet. It did not matter she
    Was salty, or that she yawned when he left
    Teeth marks, rug burns on her back.

    At 1:15 am she announced she was a goddess
    A slow slide to the right lung, languid
    And that goddesses don't taste sidekicks
    They roast them slowly, over an open fire

      An offering of human sacrifice.
