Barbequed tofu
Freeze, thaw, squeeze out and cut into 1/2 " strips:
2 lbs. firm tofu

Preheat the oven to 350 F

Spread a cookie sheet with:
2 Tbsp. oil

Arrange the tofu strips on the oil cookie sheet.

Mix together:
1
/4 cup water                        1/2 tsp. garlic
2 Tbsp.peanut butter              1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 Tbsp. soy sauce


Pour this mixture evenly over the tofu strips and press into the strips with an open hand. Bake for about 15 minutes, then turn the pieces over and bake for about 10 minutes on the other side. Pour your favourite barbeque sauce (or see below) over all and bake 10 minutes more. serve with French bread and salad.

Barbeque Sauce

Saute together until onions are transparent:
2Tbsp.oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced

Stir in:
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce                 1Tbsp. fresh parsley chopped
3/4 cup brown sugar                             or 1 1/2 trp. dried parsley
1/2 cup honey                                      1 tsp. allspice
1/2 cup salad mustard                          1 tsp. crushed red pepper
1/2 cup water                                      
1 Tbsp. molasses


bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer and add:
1/2 cup lemon juice
  or 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. soy sauce

Simmer 10-15minutes more.
